KUOTA Kueen-K

Hi,

Here my new triathlon bike (KUOTA Kueen-K) with training wheels. I hope the bike will bring me to Kona and Clearwater

Still waiting for my SRAM Powermeter pro SRM with PC VII.

I’m still in doubt which racewheels to chose. I’m a fulltime triathlete doing long-distance races. I’m thinking about the Zipp 808/404 clinchers combination vs. FFWD F6R with DT Swiss 240’s hubs.

I’d like to know your opinion

Kind Regards Rob

Hi… As a full time cyclist and a 30 yr Vet of multisport… I would say save the dollars on the Zipp name and go to a SRAM’s wheelset which is half the cost. SRAM now owns ZIPP so its the same wheel. They make a similar 808/404 wheelset.
Good luck with the bike, but at some point its the engine…

As far race wheels go, you will definitely want a rear disc for Clearwater, but a rear deep dish aero wheel for Kona. Best of luck with your new bike, Tim

I hope your seat angle stays put better than mine. I finally had to machine an insert to keep it from rotating down.

You’ll poke your eye out!

x2. I have the same issue with mine and ended up cracking the seat post last year trying to tighten it. I spoke with Andy Potts last year about it and he said he had some issues as well but it seemed to go away when he switched to an ISM saddle because it was shorter. He said his thoughts were that with the shorter seat that the weight wasnt out in front of that clamp so far and it didnt pry down as hard as sitting forward on a longer saddle does. Other than that I absolutely love the bike.

I think the benefits of a chain and cabling far outweigh the drag penalties! Before your drop the money on a disc, buy a chain, for christsakes!

No, but srsly. If you wanna go fast, a disc or a disc cover will definitely help. If you buy a 404/808 with cover, you’ll be able to race it at ITU/road bike races, whereas a disc will not be mass-start (cycling) legal. Discs are serious dough, though, and I swear to you that the humming of deep tubulars is worth at least 1 min/40K.

Couldn’t wait untill my bike is completely finished before taking a picture outside (SRM is photoshopped):

Bye Rob
.

I have a kalibur, and love the look. I think the kuota paint guys have the best designs. I love their paint set ups, especially when norman was with them. The green kueen k and kalibur are my favorite paints ever.

my second is the 08 p3-i love the dark gray, black and red combo.

So hot…
I just bought a Kuota KOM road bike…and its the best road bike I have ever ridden, love the Kuota!

X2 on the KOM- I love mine. I have a KueenK too, but am making a switch as the Kueen K is just too long and low for my build- I love it otherwise though. I am getting a Plasma 2 for fit reasons but you will love the Kuota!!

Bye Rob

that pic just made me laugh, thanks!

My bike will be finished this week. So you can see some non-photoshopped pictures soon…

Rob

I’m having the same problem. Can you describe the insert you machined? I’m going to have to do the same thing. Thanks.
