I just don’t get it…how on earth are these only $239/pair? I don’t see them built up with substandard hubs/spokes? Anyone put some mileage on a pair of these from Nashbar? I think I’m gonna bite.

I chatted online w a couple of the sales reps. The Ksyrium Elite & Equipe wheelsets are 2009 closeouts. Apparently there aren’t appreciable differences compared to the 2012 model years.
I’ve been riding a pair on the road bike for the last 2 years. I’m just over 100kg and they have remained true. No worries with flexing either. Not light, and not aero, definately slower than the Mavic cosmics that they replaced, but durability wise for training wheels you can’t fault them IMHO. Oh, I’ve probably averaged about 150km a week over that time, with a lot of hills in that so they’ve been ‘tested’. All on NZ rough chipseal roads. Not abused them with potholes, but they haven’t been pampered on flat smooth asphalt being ridden by a 70 kg waif.
If you want some strong training wheels, you can’t fault them I don’t think*. For race wheels then there are other lighter, more aero wheels for not much more, but you’lll lose out on the durability.
*exception if you use wide rims on your race wheels, when the narrow rim would neccessitate faffing with brakes, bit I don’t know if there are any wide rimmed wheels at that price.
