KSwiss K Ruuz sizing

A penny for your thoughts slowtwitchers…

There’s a great deal on the web today for getting the K Swiss K Ruuz for $45 (and free shipping). If you go on the kswiss website, grab the kruuz and use the promo code “KSSWAG11” You’ll get 50% off. As such, I’ll definitely be picking up a pair by the day’s end. I have a pair of K-Onas from last year and the only thing I don’t love about them is how wide they are… If I were to order a pair of women’s Kruuz’s, do you think that would solve my problem? Or would I just be walking around in women’s shoes?? And would that necessarily be a bad thing because Rinny wears them and her IM marathon is faster than my flat out marathon??

Thanks in advance, amigos!

That’s what I do so I can get a narrower shoe

I normally wear a 9 to 9.5 in men’s shoes and a 10 to 10.5 in women’s shoes. I wear the 10 in the K Ruuz

I know a guy who does that too, also if you look at the Kona pics it looks like Dirk Bockel is wearing the women’s model shoe (color difference). So you’re not alone!

I wear an 11 in the Blade series and K-Ona’s and a 10 in the Ruuz… add 1.5 sizes to get the female equivalent and I’d be in a 11.5 for the K-Ruuz.

With regards to Rinny running in those shoes for a Marathon: She’s also very light on her feet and doesn’t weigh much. If you’re a heavier dude (which I doubt with your narrow feet) then I would caution wearing them for longer races. I wear mine for anything 10k or under, or if I had a stand alone Half Marathon. But for 70.3 and 140.6 distance I’ll be wearing the Kwicky Blade’s. I am 6’0 and 145 pounds as a point of reference. You can wear them for longer stuff if desired just be sure to build up mileage in them first and get used to the feel of them.

Then again those K-Ruuz 1.5 that are coming out look pretty sweet and I might rock those for a 70.3! Will have to wait and see how they feel, cannot wait to get my hands on them, even if they make me hungry for McDonald’s every-time I look at them haha

Ultimately call K-Swiss customer service and ask for sizing suggestions or look on the website, that’d be a truer gauge rather than asking a bunch of randoms

K Ruuz seem to be a size down. I am normally a 13 but in those I am a 12. I am not sure why. You code does not seem to work?

Ordered! I didn’t want to miss out on the deal so I just ordered 2 pairs knowing I will return one of them. I have a size 8 men’s K-Ona so I ordered women’s size 9 and 8.5 in the K-Ruuz. Small feet - I know… But I’m 5’8" 145, not a huge frame either. I have only ever run in flats or vff’s so I think these will be great assuming I can get the right size. Thanks for the feedback, folks.

And the deal definitely worked for me so I’m not sure why it didn’t for you… Make sure you’re typing it in correctly, I guess. The deal is only for the k-ruuz and under ‘coupons/promo codes’ you have to type: ksswag11

$45 for a good pair of running shoes isn’t too bad in my book!

I used this same deal and got mine in the mail two days ago. I went down half a size from a 10.5 to a 10 (per suggestions online) but I am still on the fence as to whether I need to go smaller. The shoes feel loose and I am not sure if they are too big or this is just due to the unstructured upper of the shoe.

Any thoughts?

I ordered last week as well - have not received yet but I went a half-size smaller than my other running shoes. Fingers crossed.

just ordered my new pair… hope i guessed the right size, i remember my last ones being a half size to big, but i don’t remember if that was at 10 or 10.5… here’s hoping it was at 10.

I wear an 11 in Saucony, New Balance, Brooks, Adidas, and most other shoes (casual) as well. I wear an 11 in Kswiss too…in the Kruuz, Naturals, Blades, Blade Lights, K’Onas, Californias, and a few others. They seem to fit ‘me’ pretty true to size.

i’ve had one pair of K-ruuz and one pair of K-ona’s they were the same size as all my other shoes and both were a half size to big. i’m just hoping i remember what size they were

I wear a size 8mens for asics, nike, and adidas running. I have a size 8mens K-Ona and they are just a little too big. I ordered a size 9 womens K-Ruuz and they seem to fit much better. The women’s version has a smaller platform, which I’m not sure I love, but they hug my foot much better than the K-Ona. Hope this helps.

Got my $45 Kruzz’s yesterday and like others have said they run a 1/2 size large, great shoe plenty light and flexy.

thanks for letting us know about the deal. ordered mine earlier. had a pair of k-ona that were a little big so i went a size lower for the k-ruuz. does anyone know how they feel sockless seeing as its a tri specific shoe? the k-ona rubbed a bit but probably because they were a bit too big.

fyi, the sale is likely to make room for the 2012 models:

I wear 11 EEEE shoes and the K-Ruuz (11 1/2) are one of the few shoes that I can wear. If you have a large volume foot these are the shoes for you. I am not a small man and have ran Marathons in K-Ruuz. However, as you stated your only complaint about the K-ona is that they are too wide. The men’s K-Ruuz are defiantly wide so, the women’s may be the way to go for you…

KSwiss is blowing them out because of the new K-Ruzz 1.5 that are coming out. The only complaint I have with the K-Ruuz is that plastic “Flow Cool System” strip in the center of the toe box. The 1.5’s will not have this and I am sure I will like the new ones more.
