Not that I am even close to going, I just live in FL and have to deal with a lot of none wetsuit swim. so what are the favored swim suits people are wearing over their tri top/shorts?? I like the look of the TYR Aquashift but seems a little pricey - anything similar out there going for a better price?
The Blue 70 suit seemed to be a popular choice judging strictly on the photos I saw from the event.
i know - i saw it at insideout sports at IMLP - it’s virtually a wetsuit if you ask me! it also costs an arm and a leg though…
I’m wearing my Zoot SpeedSuit at Kona.
Im biased, but I would try the SpeedZoot if you have it in your budget. It’s fast, and easy to get off in the first transition.
I like the speedo fastskin.
XTERRA’s Velocity 0.02 speedsuit.
Please note that I am very biased.

this review is quite relevant.
Also, the 2XU Elite suit is a great way to go for $100 less.
Tricky Dick where is the love?

Speedo fastskin in the past, now Blue Seventy.
I heard the Blue Seventy actually neoprene in the top which helps with buoyancy. Any owners have anything to add?
I recently got my blue 79 pointsero3 and have tried it twice. Simply treading water, there is maybe a little bouyancy. However, once swimming I noticed that it feels like the suit kind of lifts you up through the water, for lack of a better description. And the faster you swim the more noticable this effect, although this is true ifor swimming in general. Definitely faster than tri shorts alone, though. I’ll be wearing it sunday.
better than the top of the line speedo fast skin??
I haven’t tried that one. I did just get back from IMLOU check-in and spin a thru the expo. The Blueseventy person said that they had already sold 14 pointsero3’s
Just got my new “Kona bound” BlueSeventy PointZero from trisports.com on monday.
Cant wait to try it. But pool here is closed to december(!), and water in lake is 17 C
Bummer!!
I think I have covered what I will wear in “where have all the speedos” gone thread:-)! Seriously, I don’t know how much time these save, but I will wear just a regular old speedo, or maybe my desoto power tri shorts.
Not a whole lot a girly man suits there last year:
T-Racer just got her Blue Seventy .03 today from TriSports.com, as well. Hopefully, it’ll fit small enough. If not, then she’ll try the 2XU Elite suit.
Two questions:
Have they been approved by USAT and will they actually be ready before Kona?
“Air shipped about Oct 1”? Yikes…
Yes, the XTERRA Velocity speedsuit will be ready and legal for Kona. They will be air shipped before October 1st, some have already shipped (and arrived), but we’ll only promise an October 1st ship date at the latest for all pre-orders. Because of the late arrival, we are giving pre-order discounts. - Turq
