I thought the announcement was on April 15th?
There was a thread yesterday that said some people find out from their local NBC affiliate before Friday. The stations are given the names in advance. Could be this.
it is…but apparently NBC is doing some film stuff on some winners for publicity…thus they showed up early to these people’s houses.
This happened to me in 2001…I ended up being interviewed on KRON in San Francisco (they were still the NBC affiliate at that time here) and towards the end of the shoot, Vern Glenn says to me “well Mike, what if I were to tell you that you were in the Hawaii Ironman?!”
This was on I believe April 11th…several days before the announcement from Kona. And it was a very, very cool way to find out!
