Hello. I almost always wear a running cap when running but seem to have trouble finding one that fit well and feels “right.” It seems that most of them just cover the top of my head and only slide down so far (not sure I’m describing this well?) - they seem to be “shallow.” I would love a running cap that fits just like a regular wool ball cap but have had no luck. All of the different IM hats and the like just fit weird…maybe I have a “tall” head from bottom to top? I’m guessing I won’t get any replies but it’s worth a shot. Thanks in advance.
If you can stand the pointing and giggles from spectators and fellow competitors, The Sunday Afternoons Adventure Hat in size large will almost surely fit.
Try Sweat Vac hats. They made the Team USA hats last year and I fell in love with them. I have a pretty big head and they fit like a charm.
I like the Nike Dri-Fit featherlight caps for just this reason. They feel like a real cap. I also hate how most running caps feel too “short”.
Thank you everyone. The Nike hat looks nice - I’ll hit my local running store this week to see if they might have it in stock.
The hats from last year’s Oliver Half Iron and Penticton Peach Classic were huge, I was ticked as the Oliver hat otherwise was quite nice. I’ll check the manufacturer when I get home.
If you live in Vancouver I’ll give you my Peach hat - someone might as well be able to use it!
I have a freakin’ huge head, and I found visors are the best solution. If you can stand looking like the tennis playing crowd, I recommend them.
Visors or Head Sweats hats.
I’ve had some luck with Brooks running hats for my large-ish noggin.
ditto the Nike - i have a big head and it fits great.
