Knee warmers - on top or below?

I know its the wrong season, but just got some knee warmers for the winter. I tried them on and am wondering if they are supposed to go on top or beneath my bib shorts…what say you?

Below, just like arm warmers.

makes sense…thanks

Unless you are racing and so good you want to prove you simply don’t care.

But most of us on ST should wear them underneath.

Also remember, never wear knee warmers if you are not in arm warmers. These are the rules.

That’s why I come to slowtwitch. You can’t find this stuff in textbooks

Slowtwitch is the textbook

I have skinny arms. So they go over - because that way, they stay up!. Oddly the opposite works better with knee warmers. Large quads and knee warmers end up at my ankles if they go under.

Many of the newer warmers have started putting the upper gripper elastic on the outside, so they can grip the inside of your jersey or bibs (obviously this makes the grippers useless if the warmers are over your kit).

Some knicks have silicone grippers on the outside of the legs, in which case outside works well. Otherwise, underneath.
