How do the fabrics used in the Prima Top Shorts and the Konami compare to the amphibian?
It is the same fabric : Amphibian/Prima/Konami

.
I would really love it if someone would post a pic of the chamois that Kiwami uses. I’d love to get one but I want to see the chamois first.

I have the top and bottom. They are both great. I really like the top. It is form fitting and holds ice really well. Their sizing runs small so I would size up. I wear medium in other brands but wear a large top and bottom. Kiwami service is excellent.
too bad the amphibian isnt white/black with coldblack. stylish, cool, and doesnt get dirty looking.
We have the Amphibian in black and white.
the kiwami suits look very nice but im concerned about how the black fabric performs in the heat. the konami looks really bad imo and has doesnt have a back zip.
The black used in the Konami is cold black, which is said to reflect heat better than the white fabric, plus no issues with see-through white material, unlike some out there. I use mine in very hot races, as was amazed at how the black actually did seem very cool in the hot Florida sun.
Keep the questions coming, guys. We want you to be satisfied by both the products and all of the customer service we strive to excel at.

Thanks. It’s pretty close to perfect now, but I’ll pass on your ideas. I’m not sure the material would be any cooler, as it’s so thin now… many pros and olympians have chosen this suit. We have responded to ideas, however, and have added a small chamois to many of the suits, as well as the 2 piece.
id be willing to test a coldblack treated fabric vs kiwamis black vs white lyrca with an IR thermometer.

We’ll keep that in mind. In the meantime, test one of the amphibians. My bet is that you won’t want to give it back ![]()
You can put me down as another happy customer.
Thanks. We really appreciate all of you who spread the word!
I am confused again. Previously you said the material between the Amphibian, Konomi and Prima top and bottom were all the same. However the Konomi has cold black and the others don’t? What am I missing?
Thanks,
Neal
Material is the same according to Olivier. The black dye used in the Konami, being specifically a hot weather garment is cold black. To my knowledge, the other garment’s dyes are standard, but we have yet to have an athlete say they are hot. The material is so thin that it even feels cooler.
Hi Neal,
This is indeed the same fabric, but the cold black sections get a “special treatment”.
Oli.
Thanks. Does the Prima Top have this treatment?
On another few questions:
-
What colors are available for top and bottom?
-
How does sizing compare to skinfit (so I can order correct size)?
Thanks,
Neal
Hi Neal,
Since you’re based in USA, my colleague Andre will take over from here. He has a special selection of colors (see post up above) and will help you with sizing.
The fabric on the Prima does not get that same treatment.
Oli.
I have a Kiwami Konami suit and it’s a nice suit. Andre B is very helpful.
The only issue was the white fabric of the Konami got stained the first time I wore it and it won’t come out… so it looks like crap.
We have the following options:
- Prima top: black/white; red/white; black/red/white; green/white
- Prima shorts: black/white; red/white; black/red/white.
As far as fit, we are sizing on the small side. Not sure how we compare with Skinfit.
We can always ship a couple sizes so you can be sure. Do not hesitate to ask. Thanks.
(Please note we can also print a name or logo on any of our gear. Very quick turnaround)
Sorry to read about that.
Unfortunately dirt, permanent marker or energy drinks against white, white always loses.
We did find a way to get most of the stains out. If you want to return your suit, we’ll be happy to give it a try. No charge.
Thanks,
