Kinvara sizing?

I keep reading that the Kinvara is one size big. Before I order four pairs just to size them, I’d like to confirm that. FWIW I am an 8.5 street and am happy size-wise in 9.5 Brooks Adrenaline GTS (v10 I believe—got my first pair in 2009). I want to get to something much lighter and flatter to change my poor running. The other shoes I have are P.I. Isotransition and I am hoping the Kinvara will be a good complement to them.

I am bored so I input a 9.5 Brooks Adrenaline GTS v10, into the Fit calculator at Running Warehouse. That little piece of shoe size sorcery says you are still a 9.5 in the Kinvara.

I wear the same size 12.5 in Brooks Pureconnect/PureGrit, Pearl Izumi IsoTransition and Saucony Kinvara.

Once you get accustom to the kinvara, the IsoTransitions are not going to feel good… dead forefoot and way too much heel. I’m considering taking the knife to them in order to take a cenntimeter off the heel somehow.

Same size as normal for me size 13
.

True to size for me: I’m 12 in NB and almost all other shoes, and 12 in Kinvara
.

I found them to be narrow in toe box compared to Brooks ghost, or Nike zoom elite.

Kinvaras are available in wide as well.

I wear size 12s in shoes and boots my Kinvara’s are 12 and fit great
.

True to size for me too.

I’m a 9.5 in almost everything buy the Kinvara, where I’m a 10. Size large? I don’t think so.

The regular width, I have to size up. (More like .5, though)

In the wide (which I think is WONDERFUL), I am true to size (running shoe size, not street shoe).

Kinvara is a great, I mean fantastic shoe… I wore it at IMC and loved it until 30k. great shoe. I’d wear it for the first part of any marathon again.

Both my wife and I had to go a half size up

Stupid shit my ex-training partner says.

I found the Kinvara true to size, but the toe box is on the narrow side. That may be why some people size up.

I’ve got the same specs as you, 8.5 street, 9.5 (I coincidentally have a pair of GTS12’s, Newton Distance, Mizuno Universe, and Kinvara 3’s). You should be fine with 9.5’s

I’m on my 9th pair of kinvaras, and I have three more pairs in boxes. I wear the same size as I do for other shoes. I have wide feet, and I lace the kinvaras very loosely. I rotate two pairs and also do one or two runs per week in the Altra zero drop - its quite a change.

One thing to be mindful of is transitioning to the kinvaras from a shoe with a larger heel/toe drop. I tried to go ‘cold turkey’ when going to the kinvaras, but my calves revolted. It took me about two months to transition to running only in the kinvaras.

I will be very mindful. My whole body revolts when I run

I have the same issue… got 14’s and since have realized that I maybe should have gone with 15’s (which would have been a first). Maybe I just needed wides.

on third pair…true to size and roomy enough for my flat, wide feet
