Kids and crown molding ... stop the madness

MARTINEZ, Calif. (AP) — A teenager described by former classmates as a brooding nonconformist with an interest in the occult was charged as an adult in the murder of the wife of a prominent defense attorney.

The San Francisco Chronicle, quoting unidentified law enforcement sources, reported Friday that Dyleski was running a credit-card scam and went to Horowitz and Vitale’s estate trying to track down some marijuana-growing equipment he had ordered. He got into a fight there with Vitale, who was hit dozens of times in the head with a piece of crown molding, the newspaper reported.

Doesn’t matter what background checks or waiting period is in place, no one can stop this from happening. So is there really a solution other than just completely banning crown molding?

Most crown moldings are used for crimes and not for self defense.

I saw an episode of CSI: where a kitchen knife was used to kill someone. However, we all know that’s just Hollywood as no one has ever used a chef’s knife to kill another human being.

btw, I used to live on Valente Court in Martinez. I had a good view of the Shell oil refinery which provided “entertainment” on occsion.

My house is 100 years old and I have Dental Molding. It is heavier. I dont want to take it down cause it looks nice! But I have an 8 month old and I dont want the wrong crowd showing him the proper use of molding…What do I do!?

News flash: Cain kills Abel. Liberal Democrats vow legislation to ban all primitive tools and sharp implements. Rocks, knives and jawbones of dead animals top the list of soon to be banned objects. It is well known that people don’t kill people … rocks, knives and jawbones of dead animals kill people. Luddites are planning a sit-in at the Capitol to bring much needed attention to the danger of crown molding. More on this breaking news story at 11:00.

How can you joke about this?

I understand your point of your post so don’t lecture me, but have some decency - this is a tragic incident for this family.

<<but have some decency - this is a tragic incident for this family. >>

But it’s okay for gun-grabbers to use this and similar incidences to further their cause?

Dare I say “exploit?”

Brett

Look man. Gun haters want crown molding and knives and cars and the other things that kill people everyday but they know the truth. The truth is that a person killed by a gun is far more tragic then let’s say a car death.

If someone dies in a car is really doesn’t count because us driving is worth the deaths.

Sometimes satire can drive a point home in a very significant way. Banning guns will not stop what happened. We need to focus on getting to the cause of the killing and not the method. By focusing only on the method, we will lose the chance to address the cause. I hazard a guess that the original poster was more concerned about banning guns than preventing such tragic murders.

Yeah, all I know is that all of my guns combined have killed fewer people than Ted Kennedy’s Oldsmobile.

I understand satire, and what point you are trying to drive home… I just don’t think you are showing good judgement / taste making light of this situation.
