Not bad…for 1396 USD, you could get a F/F with seatpost, and a nice set of aero carbon tubular wheels…

can you ask stacy why they don’t make the deep ‘timespeed’ wheels in clincher ?

the prices sound good, but $225 for shipping and handling is pretty steep.

Did you get a price on shipping for a wheelset?

Hey, I will sell you my PlanetX for $35.00 with the Record kit on it…you cover shipping…I will let you know what that is after I leave the UPS Store…

And could you post a contact for Stacey? When I pulled a contact email off the Karbona Website they told me they would not ship to the US.

Thanks.

I thought you meant the Ramone’s song

Her email only comes up as info@karbona.com

This is the original reply last September, when I first contacted them…
“This is Stacy from Karbona Team. Thank you for the kind inquiry. We do not have distributors in the US at this point. You are welcome to purchase directly from us. We would ship all items by EMS door to door express to you.”

The Duetto is heavy as hell. And those are only the manufacturer’s stated weights. I wonder what they really weigh.

1580g is heavy? Aren’t Ksyriums ‘climbing’ wheels at like 15g less than that?

The listed weight is also for the clincher version. Wheel & Sprocket sold the Karbona 50mm tubulars as a ‘house brand’ wheel a while back. The set I have weigh like 1460g or something? The hubs are kinda cheesy, but if you know your bearing measurements they’re easily replaced from boca or enduro.

I thought that was for a tubular set since that’s what is pictured.

Many of the Far East carbon wheels use Gigatex rims and Joytech hubs. Not surprising, the majority of the sets all weigh in the high 1500 gram range. For the money, these are certainly a value. If you crashed one, you’d hardly cry compared to a 2K set of Zipp 404’s or Reynolds wheels.

Karbona wheels, the 50mm version at least, are available readily on ebay. Here’s the current listing number for a set: 320213867758. Price is $549 plus $35 shipping. Not as low as the price above but no hidden shipping and duty fees either.

The same weight is shown for the Duetto I and Duetto II.

They’re still an unbeatable value. Wicked fast, incredibly stiff, and quite stout.

Why does it say the Duetto is $961 when I log into their store? Is shipping for a wheelset seriously $581?

FYI: Someone has the TT Frame on Ebay as well: Item # 300179657685. It’s $1,099.00 with $30.00 shipping.

I really don’t know, all I can tell you is what they have communicated to me via email.

Some others have purchased from Karbona, which is what got me thinking about them, and then I saw a few threads recently about them, and decided to share what I know.
