I managed to get my hands on a K-Edge TT mount today. I know these have been talked about a lot, so i put it on as soon as i got home and snapped a few pictures. I haven’t ridden with it yet, but so far it looks like it will work great. It mounts my 501 down inside the bars, there isn’t a bottle in the cage for the pics, but i tried it out, and there was no interference.
I’ll be riding it tomorrow, so if anyone has any questions, ask away and i’ll try to answer as best as i can.
P.S. Don’t make fun of my garage, i don’t want to hear it.
Nice, the lower position between the bars rather than on top of them is something that I have been ranting about repeatedly in all these bar mount threads. Was stoked that K-Edge finally produced an intelligent design but hadn’t seen any developments on it since their 3D printed prototype earlier in the year.
K-edge makes some of the BEST products right now… Super solid. Super light. Not the cheapest around, but the best. Apparently you can hang 90lbs of weight on the K-Edge Garmin mount before it will give. That’s crazy strong!
I’ve had a special K-edge SRM mount specifically for Shimano’s oval shaped pro missle for a few months and absolutely love it. Nothing jittering or making noise. It just plain works.
Their Go-Pro stuff is amazing too.
One neat thing about K-edge is they use different alloys for different situations. For instance, on their road chain-catchers you can literally bend it on the fly if it is rubbing or not in the right position. They use a softer aluminum for that. On their Mtn Bike chain catchers the alloy is stiffer and can’t be bent by hand.
No, it’s a profile design HC cage and mount. Is is as far back on the bars as possible. The front crossmember is actually between the arm pad mounts, and the rear one is on the last mm of the aero bars.
I just got k-edge tt mount primarily for the edge 810 that I just ordered. I was very pleasantly surprised that it also works perfectly with my 910xt (you would need a quick release kit for 910XT).
