Has anyone here ordered a watch from Jomashop?
I am reading mixed reviews online. I know one person who raves about them though.
Any personal experience here?
Thanks

I’ve bought three (lower end, nothing higher than $150) watches from them. No problems whatsoever, shipping is pretty fast too.
I have purchased a couple mid-level watches from them. I have never had any issues. They are “grey market,” which is frowned upon, especially in the watch snob community. That means they are not an authorized dealer for many of the watches they sell. That could pose warranty/registration issues. That is the only reason I would hesitate to buy a really high end watch ($5k and up). But, I bought a Tag and a Tissot w/o issue.
How many watches does a man need?
Or, to phrase the question differently, do you have different watches for different occasions (excluding a sports watch for, um, sports)?

About the same amount as the number of bikes you “need” …
Keep in mind, mopdahl turned me into a watch snob. I have more watches than I need, not as many as I want. For the most part, men do not wear jewelry, so, watches and cuff links are all we have. I do not like gold, so I have metal (stainless and titanium) bands and leather bands. A couple rubber bands for the sportier look.
I am very, very conscious regarding which watch I wear for work. Some clients or potential clients need to see the bling. You gotta watch it with juries. For union bargaining, you go industrial. It is part of the look.

So one…
I have a watch, I call it my iPhone.
You’ll be fine.
I own " a few" watches that are high end. Grey market is NOT frowned upon. YOu can get warranty through them (sometimes even the warranty card filled with your name on it, even though previously owned/purchased by another).
Rule on watches (unless you have money to spend): never buy new. One of mine was 2 weeks old when purchased, all stickers in place, and saved over $5k off the price. Buyer’s remorse hits a LOT of high end watch buyers and the return policy for those high end watches are great. So…lots of available watches that have been purchased, but would be a tough sell from a boutique.
Jomashop is well known gray market dealer on the Watchuseek forums. Gray market means they sell authentic watches but they are not a Authorized Dealer so the warranty is provided through Jomashop not the watch manufacturer. They recently had a big Omega sale and many forum members bought watches.

There is a simple equation to figure this out. The number of watches you own is represented by X. The formula is X+1.
You and JSA should get together and have a watch exchange party. You can make appletini’s. It’ll be fun. In the mean time, I’ll stick with my current number of watches (n=0) and not worry about the formula.
You’re really not saving that much buying from someone like Jomashop. Frankly, most reasonable stores are going to discount up to 20-25% off of retail on many brands anyway. If you really want to save, like someone else in the thread said, buy used. Nice watches are ridiculously overpriced, and watch guys usually can’t hold on to one watch for more than a couple of months anyway. They’re desperate to buy something else. Trust me, I’ve been there, done that.
Nice price on the Superocean today.
I did not buy a super expensive watch. I was able to get a watch that was $825 at Nordstrom’s for $379. If it all works out I will be super happy. I was a little uneasy about spending money like that online.
I used to always wear a watch. My old one died. I have been out of work for a while and now that I am working I wanted to buy something nice but not crazy.
