Joining Forerunner and Edge files to create duathlon activity

On Sunday, I completed a duathlon and realized my Garmin Forerunner 945 LTE did not record the power data. Fortunately, I also had my Garmin Edge 530, and I recorded the activity there.

I tried playing around with https://www.fitfiletools.com/, but I could not create a file I could import in Garmin Connect. I believe the issue is that I need to split the multisport activity first and then create a new file with the “segments” I want to combine.

Have you ever done this before?

The original (multisport activity recorded by Forerunner 945 LTE) and replacement (bike activity recorded by Edge 530) files can be found at this link.

But why?

So I can have one file with all data. The file recorded by the Forerunner does not have power data for the bike because it did not connect to the power meter.

Sure I get what data you are missing. But what is the objective?
Just upload both files to Garmin Connect and then all is fine, right?

I currently have both files in Garmin Connect. But I want only one so I can easily compare with similar activities in the future, and also not mess up total miles completed and training load.

You can trim the files in GC:

I still dont see the need to actually BATCH together the file, to get any kind of comparison/benchmark.

Thank you for sharing the link. Unfortunately the multisport activity type is not supported by the Trim feature in Garmin Connect.

Oh … sorry then!
