i have never listened to an an entire episode of rogan
i like his commentary on UFC and BJJ
It was a massive failure of the Dems to go on his podcast - its not to say it would have changed the result but failing to go on provided ammunition unncessarily to trump and vance
I fall in to this camp too. Most of the criticism of him here was from people who didn’t listen to him and took a lot of what he said out of context.
I don’t agree with everything he says, and find myself being more and more annoyed with his blatant inability to push back on the right. I think the only times I’ve heard him push back against anything right wing is with a few right wing influencer/commentator types specifically around religion/Christianity. When someone brings up the recent abortion changes he will say something like “yeah that’s absolutely crazy, I don’t agree with that” then change the subject.
On the other hand I can certainly see how he would have an axe to grind with the left over his cancellation attempt.
It will be interesting to see in a year or so how or if his opinion changes depending on how things go with Trump.
Or one side more closely aligns with reality. Left BS is a black snow white, storytelling drag queens and someone complaining about a comedian’s racist joke. Right BS is election denial, trade wars and Haitians eating pets.
I’m way late to the thread but I view Rogan much the same way now. I used to listen quite a bit on my bike rides since I liked the long format, the guests were mostly interesting, and I didn’t have to stop and change the podcast.
He changed when CNN(?) went after him when he got covid and was slammed for taking Ivermectin. Then he never shut up about it and every conversation would inevitably shift toward the covid response and his experience with it.
As others have said, he only brings on right wing guests now and there’s no pushback.
The Know Rogan Experience podcast does a great job of fact checking Rogan’s guests, if you’re ever looking for a new podcast.
I’ve been saying this for a while. While one needs to take responsibility for believing that Trump would be a better option for president, the left needs to learn that badgering centrists until they turn into conservatives is not a winning strategy.
Rogan said there were talks to come on but her side’s demands were unreasonable. They wanted 45 minutes, he wanted 2-3 hours. They wanted him to fly to her, he wanted her to come to him.
According to him, he wanted to do both the trump and Harris interview in the same location and format, and release them on the same day. He said trump pretty much agreed to everything immediately and kamala’s team were more difficult.
While, on one level, this makes sense, it appears that US “centrists” (in Europe, of course, these ‘centrist’ folks would be hard right) are incredibly sensitive and snowflakey such that a little “badgering” seems to make them wilt and vote for an unhinged maniac.
In the end, we most definitely got the moron that a tiny majority of the voters asked for. I doubt that badgering had anything to do with it. People have to accept full responsibility for being so easily conned by a half-wit. Ya can’t blame that on “the left”.
(I say this in spite of that fact that, today, the terms "left and “right” are effectively meaningless.)
No one said “a little.” In the case of Rogan we’re talking about a smear campaign from a major news organization who was lying about him, just as an example.
I doubt that badgering had anything to do with it
You don’t think having the number 1 podcaster who was known as a centrist start platforming more and more right wingers and eventually endorsing Donald Trump while also having very popular episodes with DJT and JD Vance a week before the election had anything to do with winning an election by 1.5% had anything to do with it?
