Jock itch recovery time

I have suffered from jock itch recently. One week ago I got rid from the infection but the skin is still sort of red, cause it must restore itself.I was told by my doctor to rest, no sport for 3-4 weeks (just some swim with a loose swim suit) though she told me, if I could not stop exercicing I could use a protection cream for my run and my swim (if I were using speedos (always OW swim by the way)). No neoprene allowed of course, no bike of course. the ones that have suffered from this, how has been your recovery??? just wondering if I should stop those 3 weeks and heal properly…I stopped 5 weeks ago, two weeks of wrong treatment, two of proper treatment and one since I got rid from the infection…just want to avoid relapses…

P.D. By the way. Do all of you use cycling shorts-culote without underwear? i have been told nylon and sytentics are really bad for the skin. I had never paid attention to this before, but even for daily life, it is highly recommended to use cotton underwear…wondering if there is cotton technical sport clothing that can avoid bad issues with the skin…

Don’t use underwear with cycling bibs. It will bunch up, and cotton will cause chafing especially when sweat soaked.

Consider using diaper rash ointment for protecting the skin while things heal. My preference is Desitin Creamy: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BZAIRGS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_KE8BG46NST0Z7WZXK3M0

It’s a bit hard to wash out, so use some older bibs and swimsuits. That’s also what makes it good for long rides and swimming.
