Years ago, one of my patients in Virginia was a retired secret service agent who had worked under several US presidents. He had nothing but good words to say about President Carter. Said he was a kind and thoughtful man. I believe President Carter’s actions, after his time in office, even more confirmed his dedication to serving his fellow countryman. I hope whatever time he has left is one of peace and comfort
it’s not an original thought, but i still think it’s worth pausing for a sec to consider just how far standards have fallen. biden, obama, mccain, romney, a lot of these guys are, it seems, decent human beings. but trump . . . even the people who vote for him don’t seem to think he’s a decent person.
There are parallels to top athletes (Deshaun Watson jumps to mind) who would otherwise be untouchable because of behavioral or personality issues but who are desirable for what they offer to those who desire their services.
Difference with Trump being that what he offers is the illusion of having that thing of value when in reality he’s been nothing but a liability for everyone and everything he touches.

Some info on his getting past cancer . . . Good to hear he’s still doing well.
I saw an interview with JC’s grandson last night, when asked what’s the secret to Jimmy’s longevity, he just answered along the line of ‘he doesn’t know when to quit.’
Class act all the way around.
