My Plasma LTD is an 08 model (size 52). Originally equipped with Zipp 606 tubies.
Looking at the Jet 90 C2 (clincher). Will it fit the wheelstays??
Also for debate, found a great deal on a Jet 90 (non-C2) rear and Hed 3 front.
Which would you go with? A set of Jet 90 C2s or the Jet 90 (non-Cs) rear + H3 front?
Thanks!!
Any o’ yaw junkies out there?
Fit gurus?
Wrenches?
There are 2 versions of the Jet 9 (last year the 90 C2), the older version has a more pronounced toroidal bulge, the newer version is less pronounced. If you get the newer version you should have no fitting issues in most frames. I have fit the newer version in a Scott Plasma (1) without difficulty, not sure if the wider version would work.
A Jet 90 rear with a disc cover and H3 front would be a great all around wheelset. You just have to be prepared to run narrow tires front and rear for best results.

I thought the new C2 Hed Jet was made with the wider rim… to better fit the 23mm tire?
The C2 is made with a 23mm rim. What wombat is referring to is the flare on the fairing, which is somewhat less pronounced this year. There are, however, “narrow” wheels available through dealers (like me) that have the 19mm rim.
Plasmas are a problematic frame. The larger frames seem to fit most wheels ok, while the smaller ones are not fitting everything.
To note, the H3s are a more versatile wheelset and will probably hold a higher resale value.
So it sounds like I need to steer clear of the C2 (unless I happen to find a way to test the wheel’s fit in the stays).
If you’re riding a 70.3 course where winds are predominately cross at avg 20 mph, what wheelset would you recommend?
I’m leaning toward H3 in front. Deciding between 808 and Jet 90 rear.
You can try any of the HED wheels through us. Thats all we do.
Why not run a trispoke front and rear like most people do in that scenario?
Dunno?
However, I appreciate your decisive answer.

no worries.
You at least now know where to go for your selection on the matter.
