Jagwire Elite Link brake cable installation help

Would there be any reason to not just use the inner liner for internal routing as opposed to using some housing and the links? I ran it with just the liner and it installed super easy. I don’t see any reason to use pieces of housing and the links. I get the protection aspect the links would provide for the liner but all that’s running next to it are Di2 wires. I can just replace liner if needed.

yes, this is how it’s intended to be ran.

Okay. Thought I might be missing something because instructions and online videos always use some housing and the links. I will run some links for the six inches or so of liner that’s exposed between bottom bracket and rear brake. The front brake is 100% hidden.

just so long as you’ve got stops where it enters the frame (otherwise nothing will keep the links from pulling down into it) - not an issue on most bikes, but occasionally comes up (the 1st gen speed concepts had that old rubber stopper in the top tube, I pulled some nokons through that once.)
.

Dimond has a metal bracket where the brake cable exits the frame. Not going to pull any links through that.
