Hi Guys. A friend told me to use jack3d for my tri races. As I havent yet used it even at the gym, I would like to ask if its ok if I will use it on a 70.3 race. Will it help me with my performance or will it affect me negatively since its a muscle pumping supplement?

A lot of supplements made for gym work has steroids and other triathlon banned substances in them. Either on purpose or accident. Stay away.

I took it for a while a few years back and noticed no difference when compared to just having a cup of coffee before my workouts. Jack3d also made be retain quite a bit of water.
I never introduced any foreign substance into my training or racing. I figured it is all mental not entirely muscular over the long run, the reason you train is to teach your brain how to respond to what we are doing to ourselves!!
Eat well, sleep well, measure your caloric intake, sugar, and carbs (I use myfitnesspal, it has helped me a lot)! Caffeine is sometimes my best buddy if i needed a jolt (coffee form). Never take any pills they never tell you the true side effects anyways and the damage to the body over the long run they incur.

If anyone takes it seriously, it’s probably worth noting that part of Suzanne Atkinson’s response there included this warning:
“First & last time i heard of jack3d was for a kid that I ended up treating in the emergency room for sustained superventricular tachycardia. So I’d say don’t use it for anything unless you want to jack up your heart.”
I would say to get the full effect don’t try it in training and wait until race morning to try it for the first time.
You could probably expose the Jack3d lie and just find out what the ingredients are and mix it yourself. I’m sure they are just taking common products and mixing them and making an extreme profit.
There are gels with up too 100mg caffeine in them. Take 3 of them over the course of an hour.
Jack3d made the news in the uk, not for good reasons.

Classic. I think this supplement is banned (in US at least) because it contained DMAA. Good chance it will m3ss you up
