Hmmm. Eating that much broccoli in concentration that close to a race could have a side-benefit of jet-power.

Broccoli is poison and causes cancer!
“Broccoli is loaded with goitrogens, particularly one group called thiocyanates. The consequence of eating these thiocyanates is the potential to develop the very serious condition of hypothyroidism.”
“And remember those thiocyanates I mentioned earlier? Well those too can cause bladder cancer in rats.”
he has a degree in sport science.
and I would guess a phd snake oil selling. ( likely from the Ben Greenfield university)
He definitely doesn’t train appo…
Let’s not be too harsh. The nutrition products Jack has been advertising have been mostly legit and useful: creatine, magnesium, collagen (I have some doubts about this one but probably not snake oil) and PF&H packaged sugar (delicious chews). Lever movement - I remember Kienle using it to accelerate his comeback from Achilles injuries, and he’s an expert on that.
As long as he doesn’t venture into the fully tinfoil hatted world of red light “therapy” or led lamps stuck in your ears, my eyebrows won’t be raised.
The podcast is free to listen to for a reason.
Atm I coach Ari Klau, Sam Appleton, Greg The GOAT Harper and a month ago took on young American Evan Price. I also am Jocelyn Mccauley’s coach (and was last year leading into Kona as well where she came 7th) but leading into Ironman New Zealand this year she found out she was pregnant so we decided that it was best to train to feel and for her to treat that as an enjoyment race. I also coached Penny Slater in 2024 when she came 7th at IM World’s and 2nd at Ironman Texas.
I took on a couple of Age Groupers in December last year as well. Toby Martin and Emily Kluge. They would both like to turn pro one day.
I also am unofficially Sam Long’s coach although he doesn’t know about that yet.
totally fair and I stand corrected its not the products, its the sell technique. like the nomio. the pilar performance that he praised to be so useful to help him sleep when by is own accounts he had issues to sleep etc .
and yes I do listen happily to the interviews as they are by and large good.
My bad re:Appo. I though a while ago on the pod he’d mentioned someone else as his coach.
Jack wanna coach me? Aiming to qualify to 70.3 worlds at Tallinn 70.3 or Malaga 70.3 ![]()
You’d get to tell me how s*it I am lol
You’re not wrong. He used to be coached by Tim Reed
I said on the Sam Long thread that you’d actually be a great coach for him! With the caveat that Sam would have to trust and listen to you and buy into your approach, and not go off and do his own thing.
I mean I hope that caveat applies to every coach!
I eat 500g of Broccoli a day. Don’t need a supplement shot of it.
you probably have daily diarrhea if you have that much broccoli daily.
Just trying to hit 38g of Fiber a day man.
Have to say that I actually loved having a pod with just Greg and Vicky, as they have a gorgeous dynamic. Actually made me think about starting to follow short course too!
I see what you did there. ![]()
You might say going lean on the crew improves the quality of the podcast.
Greg’s take on the fact that the short course athletes have access to 8 aid stations for a 10k run was pretty good.
Agreed. They should do that more for short course debriefs. They are the only 2 interested and who seem to have knowledge, and make a fun podcast. No need for Jack and Appo as they don’t seem to care and Jack just makes “short course is crap” jokes all the time.
