Jack Kelly The Triathlon Hour

Not sure what you want to convey by posting this. That Sam Appleton has done ITU races 16 years ago ? And thus that he is knowledgeable ? That may be but in the podcasts I listened to he doesn’t seem to bring much in terms of short course discussion (admittedly there is not a lot of discussion regarding short course going on). So I’ll double down like Greg and say he and Vicky are the only ones who seem to be interested and have knowledge about short course triathlon

Funny and spot on. Being denied a sip of water with 10min of racing left is meaningless, not to excuse bad behavior.

Geez guys, have you never grabbed a bottle in hot weather to cool yourselves down? Getting ready in those last 10 minutes for what you know is going to be a harrowing sprint for the entire podium, well staying cool and not being cooked is a very good reason to grab a bottle late…

Geez, what would you know about racing for the elite podium? Oh wait…what?:rofl::rofl:

Lessons from those who actually walked the walk.:+1:

If it was so important then she needed to get in position and grab one.

I agree..

Guys it’s not that she was crossing the Sahara desert and dying for a drip of water. It’s not that she was unable to make it to the finish line with out it. It’s was simply the competitive disrespect that she responded to.

I think it shows a few things - LT is fiercely competitive. She is good at getting into her competitors heads. And she doesn’t really care about camaraderie or etiquette during a race. Pure self interest.

Totally understandable, but also taken to extremes you just end up the kind of person people don’t like.

I think we need more Short Course discussion. That’s where the Contenders race, they are all gorgeous (like Matt Hauser), the swim matters, the bike isn’t an arms race and handling skills matter, runs are super fast, and the racing is exciting overall.

Vicky was like a kid at Christmas talking about short course. Her voice was legitimately operating an octave higher than usual.

Myself, Greg and Vicky watch every short course race and love them. I think going forward Greg & Vicky will definitely do a recap pod for the big short course races. It was a really, really good podcast in my completely biased opinion.

Vicky was great, but Greg was great too. It was really nice for him to be given some space to speak and expand upon his thoughts. He’s funny but also quite insightful.

I think a common trait of all the TTH presenters is that they don’t seem to take themselves too seriously (other than Jack in his ad reads ). This is in contrast to (otherwise solid) PTN. But they do take their “job” seriously. TTH is just so entertaining.

(Gotta go wash the brown off my nose)

This is the face of a man who assumed he was being described as gorgeous. But, nope.

I can’t stop staring at this gorgeous Australian specimen. But apparently Victoria Holland could.

Kudos to Vicky for not giving in to that manly peer pressure and providing great commentary !

Hope they make a joke that the only screen time Appo got was in the penalty tent ! (not entirely true, we did see him in several shots in the background, which was very nice to see a lot of the athletes and have very wide camera shots on the run)

He milked that screen time as much as he could. Probably thought he was being called gorgeous on live tv.
