I've the THM-Carbones Scapula SP Tuned forks....cat get rid of loose headset

i have quite a bit of steerer showing and use about 2.5 inches of spacers…should i position the tightener on the top of the steerer or down inside the steerer nearer where the brakes are…looking down the fork steerer i see white foam inside…so, the tightener thing…down low, where the stem is or right at the top?

  • Make sure you have the very thin - 0.1mm spacers between the headset cap and the bearing. You need to make sure the top cap can compress the bearing without hitting the headtube.

  • Make sure you have a least 3mm or so of spacer (or stem) above the end of the steerer tube. The outer lines below are your stem (or a spacer), and the inner one is your steerer.

Again, you need to make sure that you have room to actually compress everything down.

  • Make sure you the expansion plug is expanding and locking out and not bottoming out against the top-cap and then expanding.

thanks… im gonan take some pictures and then perhaps you can tell me if it looks correct
