The young lad who DNF’d with a puncture has potential and you have had some good lower level results for development athletes recently.
A full Olympic cycle is a long time, but US seems to be in a better position now than 3 years ago.

You’re wrong, it’s Gina Sereno ![]()
Just playing AT here ![]()
In Montreal for a CC, Morgan Pearson got 2nd, John Reed 50th, not sure if he had bike issues again, he was 2 mins back of the front group he swam with.
KZ’s development group raced last weekend in Magog and this weekend, best athlete I think placed 22nd in women’s race. Her likely best athlete Faith Duncan just moved to her group. Mid 16 5k effort, just needs to get her swim to competitive level.
Different John Reed
Ah ok cool, didn’t even look at his profile just assumed since Pearson was there it was him as well.
John Reed is 2001, the guy in the Canada races is 1998. I was very confused when I first saw the start lists, but 2001 was always going to do Hamburg.
No clue why Morgan skipped Hamburg and the MTR for a conti cup. But I do know he was doing some of the Crit’s at America’s dairyland. (Week of crits in Wisconsin)
Richard Murray doing press ups in the penalty box (no idea at what race yet)
he got handily beaten over a draft legal sprint distance by rico bogen ( 3min and 4 seconds … mark devay won bogen was 4th.
Never knew Rico was doing draft legal racing, it appeared from the clip he had won the race.
Edit no, after a rewatch you can see someone pass him when he goes into the penalty box.
I have no idea what it appears to be fact is he was 39th overall
No commentary, linited splits and athletes names, stunning location…
2025 Europe Triathlon Relay Championships Melilla Junior | Rising Stars
Location is, indeed, amazing. I did not know about Melilla. Apparently Spanish, but surrounded by Morocco (and the Mediterranean), in the African continent. Weird.
Any informed Brit knows about Ceuta and Melilla in the context of Gibraltar’s status.
to bring it back to sport its still a bit funny to have European champs in Africa
and adding on a massive amount on travelling costs and time
on the whole its hard to think about a more complicated location for European champs even if you spend a lot of time thinking what is the most difficult place to hold European champs
el hierro and hammerfest are the only2 places I could come up with thinking 2 min about it.
You think? I can think of a couple of European countries that are war zones at the minute!
Seemed to go ok?
The last British lad for us, again gives me a bit of hope for the future!
I would say it’s not too much to ask to have a major race within 3 hours of a solid airport .
melilia is about 8 hours from the next solid airport or for most people a rather expensive flight with a Spanish stopover and lets not forget world tri likes to use the world sustainable and the last 2 years the race was in the middle of nowhere in turkey that did also not win a sustainabilty award and a lot of teams had an 7 hour road trip from Istanbuhl.
and looking at it from a sporting point of view. fani szalai is still doing pretty well finishing again 2 nd in the junior race while still a youth athelte and doing pretty well in the senior relay.
the polish relay was pretty good and overall did not badly.
the German male junior champ did a serious run
France overall pretty strong and Spain rather disappointing. and Italy also rather strong.
well to save on that we have both Asian and European Champs in Istanbul at the end of August ![]()
It’s the Bundesliga, lots of money from the clubs.
A lot of Pros race this or the French Grand Prix or both. I don’t think there really is other countries with so much emphasis on club racing for draft legal.
