It's Official - Shop Is Closing

You’re hearing from me first so that the rumor mill doesn’t burn off of the chart. After many failed attempts to work with our landlord and continual drops in sales the past 6 months, we are officially calling Sunday our last day. There have been great times and not so great times but the people that I have met and the relationships that have developed from having this shop will stay with me forever. It’s sad that I have to sit here and write this to the very community that helped put my shop on the map. Whether your experience was good, bad, or indifferent, I want to say Thank You for walking through our doors. Without going in to a deep discussion about the whereto’s and whathave’s I want to say that the vendors that have been in my shop are the best. SCOTT, Cannondale, FELT, Pinarello, Jamis, Yeti, and Guru helped form us and our identity. I love this industry, this sport, and all of my friends that I have talked to about their first GU, or fitted them on their first tri bikes. It’s been a true pleasure to own and develop Ladera Cyclery, and again, I Thank You ALL.

Good Luck Jeff with whatever else you are pursuing.

sorry to hear that brother, best of luck in the new era.

Very sorry to hear about the closing. Nice orange ties though.

For those of you who don’t know Jeff, let me tell you, he’s a great guy. When I opened my shop about a year after he first unlocked his doors, Jeff was very supportive and freely offered his help and advice. It was much appreciated during a nervous time - someone to talk to who understood the challenge.

I wish you all the luck in the world, sir, and hope you’ll get to spend some relaxing rime with your family.

Really sorry to hear that Jeff. I know you will be great in your future endeavors. Best of luck to you and your family. I would never had been as involved and interested in road, tri, cross racing without you, Ashley, Matt, Brad, etc. I know I am not alone in that sentiment. I will see you all on the out there on the road continuing the passion you brought to the shop. If you ever need anything let me know.

Jeff, as a fellow retailer here in Orange County, I feel for you and am very sorry to hear about the issues that have plagued you guys. I know firsthand how tough the retail climate is and just want to thank you and the staff for your service over these past few years and wish you and your family the best! Hope to see you out on the road.

Jeff, sorry to hear. All the best as you move forward. By the way, you have the right priorities.

This Economy is horrible. Sorry that you guys are closing.

Sorry to hear this.

Best of luck and god bless!

It means a lot to hear from fellow retailers. I’ll be in to say hi soon, since I’ll be getting a lot of time on the bike!

Thanks Ryan we’ve got a lot of great memories and I plan on making more. We’re still going to put on the race and we’re going to get a new club together. But in the mean time…SHOP RIDE TOMORROW…7am sharp.

NOOOOOO!!! You guys are the best and this is a big loss for the area. Through the years I’ve used many bike shops and yours was by far my favorite. Thanks for everything and you will be missed greatly.
