To balance all the dieting folks are signing up for, I’d like to post a big yeah to Eggnog. I had my first glass of the season last night. Pint glass full. Yum!
I will confess that after I enjoyed my liquid dessert, I was dumb enough to look at the calories. Serving size 1/2 cup. Calories per serving: 180. Ooops. Sounds like the run is going to be a little longer this weekend!
After gaining nearly 15# since July I just restarted training and need to start trimming some of the fat… I must tell the wife not to bring any home this year, I must not go to the store and pick any up… I must stay away from that evil 400 cal / cup product they call EGGNOG…
The whole fat stuff is too rich for me by the glassful, so I either ad an ounce or two to coffee, or buy the light eggnog. So far as I can tell, it tastes the same.
Stop it, people should eat more fruit. I am enjoying a lovely dessert bowl of orange, apple, apricot, prunes and raisins with some grated cinnamon over it, delicious.
Oh, I forgot to say that I nuked it in the microwave after pouring some port over it!
Gag?! You calorie/weight weenies! You haven’t lived life until you can down a liter of Promised Land Egg Nog, because up until then you’ve been cheating yourself out of one of the simple pleasures of life… only a bag of Ruffles with Ridges, french onion dip and an ice-cold Coca Cola comes close… or maybe the large Mexican Vanilla Amy’s ice cream with strawberries in a freshly-baked waffle cone
Its not the calories, I just think eggnog gross. Mass quantities of eggnogg is down right revolting. I’ve never liked it. I can get behind a ginerbread latte though. Yum. My roommate went out and bought a bottle of the gingerbread syrup for our morning espresso. Bless her.
As I was grabbing my skim milk and longing for the eggnog sittin’ right next to it, I saw that there are 2 new flavors out for us New Englanders.
Pumpkin
Cinnamon

irondad- I will gladly eat at your house anyday! I like fritos with my french onion dip though, they’re stronger so you can hold more dip. Hmm, no wonder my cholestrol is 240! LOL.
Personal favorite pig out food: Chicago style hot dog with everything, fries and a root beer float.
