Anybody have this saddle yet? Reasonable priced. Supposed to be similar to ism attack. Wondering what other people’s experience with it has been
I just picked one up for my recent winter tt build. I’ve put a handful of rides on it in the last couple weeks and have enjoyed it so far. I came from the Adamo Racing saddle which, if I remember correctly, is supposed to be a tad bit wider than the pn 1.1. Not sure if I can really tell a difference, however. One thing I do notice, however, is the tapered front nose of the saddle–in my opinion it’s a LOT more comfortable to sit at the very edge of the pn 1.1 than it is on the Adamo racing saddle. For the price I think it is definitely a great saddle and I don’t see myself changing to anything else in the next couple years.
That’s good to hear. I have a Cervelo P2 and am currently using the fizik Arione Tri2 which is the seat the bike came with. Not sure that seat is going to be great for my first HIM. so I’m considering the pn 1.1, the fizik triton, and the Cobb Jof. The pn 1.1 is the most reasonably priced
I’m also on the stock arione on my p2. I ordered the PN 1.1 a couple days ago and can’t wait to give it a shot. It’s a great price and the arione is killing me on 3 hr trainer rides in aero.
ISM Prologue is still cheaper on Ebay… The PN 1.1 does look interesting, it’s good to have more affordable options.
I cant seem to get rid of saddle sores this year and the zip tie trick actually makes things worse!

Yeah. I’m not sure yet about the arione. The few rides I’ve had I’ve definitely had some issues.
I’m a bike fitter, and I’ve had the PN 1.1 for about a month now. I’ve had very good results for a couple of people with it, but of course, everybody is different. As you have noticed, it is very similar to the Attack - if you lay them on top of each other, they are shaped identically. The difference is in the padding - the PN 1.1 is a bit softer.
Why is the pn 1.1 cheaper than the attack? besides softer padding?
I hear the saddle shape matters more than the padding. As a bike fitter is this true for most people, and how do you think it compares to the Attack?
The answer to that is “it depends.” Sorry - I know that pretty much sucks as an answer, but everybody is different. Some people want/need cushioning, while others don’t. How the saddle and someone interact is individual - if someone has soft tissue issues versus sit bone pain versus numbness versus back pain, etc. - it all depends on what you are fighting. This is why I have 50+ saddles in-house from 9 or 10 different manufacturers and a SwitchIt.
With that said, to try to answer your question a bit more directly, I believe the shape does matter more. Once someone finds a shape that works for them and we dial in the position, the padding amount is less of an issue.
Compared to the Attack - with exactly 2 people thus far who have opted for this - it seems that if someone likes the feel of the Attack they’ll like the price difference enough to like the PN 1.1. Both people have liked the padding better, at least in the short term. It will be interesting to see after they get deeper into Ironman training, if they have any soft tissue issues.
Have on on the way for my Shiv, hoping it will be more comfortable than the Romin Evo that came with the bike. Have a Cobb Max on my Planet X stealth that I liked, but wanted to give an Adamo a shot and the price is right on the PN 1.1. I will post my initial impressions after I get a chance to ride it a bit this weekend.
I’ve had the saddle now for about a month, lots of trainer rides. I’m coming from the attck, so the adjustment was minimal. The reason the pn1.1 is a better saddle for me is as I’ve gotten more agressive with my position and all my weight shifts forward off the sit bones I need more cushioning. If my position was not as agressive the old attack would have been fine. I will say that with more cushioning, comes a smaller gap between the arms of the saddle as you squish more of the saddle so you need to be aware of this when you adjust the nose width and tilt.
I should also add that the pn1.1 is covered in a very cheap almost rubbery plastic feeling material and not the nice leather of the attack, you almost stick to the material is great. I wish they offered a softer attack with the same leather material instead of the cheap plastic stuff they covered it in.
I have gone from Arione Tri to Cobb Max and like the relief zone of the Cobb, but it seems a bit wide and I have been getting some strange chaffing with it. I tend to like a softer seat (tried the Sitero and hated it), and the PN 1.1 has my attention. My question is how does the width compare (in the areas where tri-riding is done) to the Cobb Max?
I have had the ISM for a bit now and find it more comfortable than the Romin or Cobb Max. Took a bit of fore aft and tilt adjustment to get it dialed in, but once that happened it has been perfect.
Good to hear this seat is a good option! In the process of a build and went through about 4 seats on a trainer and picked the 1.1. Sounds like the feedback has been positive from others, but IMO a saddle is really up to the individual.
To the OP, does your LBS offer a trial of any kind? give it go for a couple of long rides and it if doesn’t fit the bill, swap it out.
Is there a noticeable difference in the width between a Cobb Max and PN 1.1? It seems like the Cobb Max flares out as the seat comes up from the bike at the nose, making it wider at the top…
Comparing the Cobb Max and the PN 1.1 for where I would sit on the saddle, to me, the Cobb feels more or less the same width everywhere (until it flares), whereas, the PN 1.1 width feels like it gradually increases from front to back (with no flare at the back.) . If the Cobb Max width (55-60mm) matches the width you need to support you where you sit, then all is good. The difference to me on the gradually increasing width of the PN 1.1 is that it feels more like you can self select the saddle width that works for you - either by adjusting the saddle forward/back on the rails, or else moving back and forth a bit while riding to adjust somewhat how much saddle width you have under you. Hope that makes sense?
Just placed an order for one today and may pick up a COB JOF to compare. I tried the Adamo Breakaway and the Cobb Plus and Max a few years ago with no luck. I always end up back on my Specialized TriTip, which is solid out on the road, but not so much on the trainer and longer rides.
Would be interesting to get your comparison on the two - I have heard so many good things about the JOF but I am completely satisfied with my Max.
I used the V-Flow Max for a few years and just switched to the JOF. Very similar fit for me. Personally, my position is more upright than aggressive, and I prefer a wider saddle in general. So far, I’m liking the JOF. I will be using it for Oceanside 70.3 this weekend, so we’ll see how it goes.
