Looks like things reaching boiling point.
Reaching? I’d say they’ve reached it.
Not sure how helpful it is Bolton naming names of who has committed to turn on Maduro. I understand the tactic, but it could land them in jail or worse. But yes, we could be near a breaking point. Hopefully there can be a peaceful transition. Even then it will take years to rebuild the economy and any new government will have significant challenges maintaining support. Just look at Argentina which is a mini version of Venezuela.
Things are going so well in the US that we can call for revolution in other countries?

Well, we did just thwart 2 coup attempts.

We have electricity and drinkable water here. That’s a big step up from what most of them have there.

I’m confused. I thought it was evil and malicious to try to influence elections/politics/policies of countries that you have an interest in.
Has there been any response from Russia yet? That will determine how bad this is going to get.
And how can we do without Cuba here.
“If Cuban Troops and Militia do not immediately CEASE military and other operations for the purpose of causing death and destruction to the Constitution of Venezuela, a full and complete embargo, together with highest-level sanctions, will be placed on the island of Cuba. Hopefully, all Cuban soldiers will promptly and peacefully return to their island!†Trump wrote in a pair of tweets late Tuesday.
Bolton accused Cuba of playing a “direct role in propping up the failed Maduro regime in Venezuela,†and Pompeo suggested that Russia and Cuba had acted in concert to thwart what might have been Maduro’s peaceful abdication."******

If you’re interested read up on the Cuban forces “counterinsurgency” operations in Venezuela.

This article also indicates this. It has been going on since Chavez was in power, shared ideology (anti capitalism and Socialism) and Cuba was getting almost free oil (until very recently apparently) in exchange. Well seems like we may meet Maduro in Havana when we go visit Cuba.
This is a turning point, but I don’t know if it is turning for the better. This could be long drawn out civil war.
Is it fair to say that Cuba has a stronger foreign policy presence in South America than Canada?

Word on the street is the US is spending $100k in Facebook ads in Venezuela calling Maduro criminal and Lock Him Up! Diabolical!!

Not the article I was looking for but interesting and appalling https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/17/world/americas/venezuela-cuban-doctors.html
There’s a report out there about the tactics that the Cuban advisors are suggesting and using themselves in Venezuela. Let’s say they aren’t kid gloves.
…superiors told him to use the oxygen as a political weapon instead: Not for medical emergencies that day, but to be doled out closer to the election, part of a national strategy to compel patients to vote for the government.
A glimpse into the future of American single payer healthcare…

I’m more inclined to believe that Venezuela’s path forward will be long, messy, and dark rather than an abrupt turnaround or a return to better times… regardless of what the U.S. says or does.

I thought you all referred to a place like that as “some shit hole country” or something like that?

How come Venezuela and not, say, Norway?
