I am thinking about buying the Pearl Izumi tri shoes and I want a carbon one. They don’t carry them in the women’s shoe. I am a woman and considering buying the men’s. Is there actually a difference in the cut of the Men’s shoe vs the Women’s shoe?
Usually the difference will be with the width of the shoe. I know for a fact that in running shoes the standard with for men (D) is wider then the standard with for women (B). It might work for you but sounds like it’d be safer for you to try these on first or check if the retailer has a good return policy if you buy online.
I don’t know if they’ve changed this, but on the PI Carbon Tri shoes that I have; the strap opens and hangs to the inside → towards the bike and crank. That can be an issue if you are a “leave the shoes on the bike for T1” person. It’s workable by trimming the fiirst set of tabstops and pulling the strap until it’s almost completely out; but good to check before you buy.
thanks! Makes sence. I have a wide foot, so I am thinking I am ok with the men’s. I will email them just to make sure.
