100% yes, but swimfan is the ONLY good schtick on the entire forum. I’m thinking of doing some senseless swimfan trolling just to hype it up more.

The Swimfan of new is a much more tame version than the pre-banned version. That Swimfan took on everyone from “fatties” to the purple machine (TNT) with a no-holds-barred Jeffrey Ross-esque comedy schtick that had you either falling on the floor laughing or, if you were easily offended, up in arms ready to crawl through your computer screen to wring his neck. Personally, I was and still am quite entertained by his perspective. Doesn’t mean I agree with it all the time, but it’s free entertainment.
Agree that the old swimmie was much better…and I still miss the real Paulo WAC stuff. Crap, these days fat doodes are posting critique my position threads and they get bitter if someone suggests that they drop a couple lbs…

Agreed. I miss the old swimmie - this new version seems to be somewhat bipolar, offering caustic commentary one minute and then (seemingly) genuine advice/help the next.
That guy who blamed Dev Paul for his getting injured trying to run 100/100 and got everyone all worked up was pretty good though…
I enjoy the bipolar posts…but would enjoy singularly caustic commentary all the time.
Must say, I personally think swimfan’ is great!
He is definitely not ‘politically correct’. I would have posted replies to some of his comments over the time and how funny they were, but knew some people out there would be taking offence.
Am putting alot of time into my own website and it is well linked up with my blog, so people can easilly see me. I find alot of what swimfan says is very comical, but at the same time something that is funny to one person can be taken as offensive by another.
Too many people won’t speak how they truly feel and with good reason(often).
It also seems swimfan knows a fair bit about triathlon, which is a good thing.

Am I the only person on this board that has figured out that Swimfan is a caustic, bitter, middle-aged woman? (not that there is anything wrong with that). Once I figured that out it made the politically incorrect posts even funnier. Go Swimfan! (BTW, why did you drop the registered trademark R with a circle from Swimfan?).
glad to see that i am not the only person who misses the old swimfan. i used to find his posts over the top hillarious and would often be able to amuse even non-triathlon friends showing them his threads and posts. the reponses he could get out of people were great. when i saw him posting again it didn’t take long to see that something had changed, and the posts had lost their riot inciting edges and topics.
No … its just the old swimmie on drugs … legal drugs, but happy drugs!

I respectfully disagree.
First of all, I don’t know the man or woman, that I am aware of. If I’ve ever met them they did not reveal themselves to me.
swimfan has made a lot of posts on this forum, some of them helpful and relevant, and some others as well. The bottom line to me is that he/she is a player, a contributor, and it is easy for any of us to sit back and be a critic of that. Fact is, swimfan puts himself/herself out there and risks the criticism, usually anonymous and often rather caustic. Regardless of the resiliency of a person’s ego that is tough on you.
I’m glad the guy/girl is here. He served his time when he got a little out of control, perhaps there is a trend swinging back that way and maybe your observation is the worning shot fired over his bow that he/she needed to throttle back a bit.
At any rate, sensation is, for better or worse, a part of anonymous forums.
I remember in another thread he mentioned that you two have met. You should make a list of all the people you have talked to or met in the last 10 years and try and narrow it down from there. Could be a fun weekend project for you
