Does Louis Garneau make good triathlon shoes? Do they have a good reputation? thanks
yes
.
Love them. Have a pair of S-Works trivents that didnÂ’t get moved into the race day kit, because the LG stuff seems to work well.
I have 2 bibs, one from PI and another is LG. PI feels ok and just lasts. LG was/is way more comfy but the seams on shammy desintegrated in a first year. Luckily the guy in our local alterations fixed it with new seams and after one year there is no signs of any wear. Looks like they’ll last. He said that original seams were made for suckers.
So mixed feelings. Very comfy, super nice fit on LG but crappy seams. On the other hand does not really matter as the guy took just $10 to fix.

what year were your LGs? their 2014 line was GARBAGE in terms of bibs/shorts and seams/chamois all separating. Their 2015+ stuff has been pretty solid and havent seen the same kind of issues as their prior stuff. I think they were just trying to go too thin with their materials and it led to some QC issues.

2014, hmm, can’t bet my life but could’ve been just that

Is Lionel Sanders the only person who rides that bike? Seriously, I wouldnÂ’t even know how to get one even if I wanted to.
Is the tri xlite shoes any good?

I was looking at an LG TT/Tri few years ago, but the guy (sponsored rider) had sold it. Said “you know, nobody knows these bikes, but I had my best season on it for whatever that’s worth”
There are LG dealers that on occasion have them on stock/sale. I’ve seen them on Craigslist. Obviously in Canada my feeling is that if you (LBS) order one in, you’ll be stuck with it - glad to rid of it @ cost.
Sort of the case for your genera bike shop up here. For example I got an Argon E80 frameset for $600 or so because the shop had to stock it. It had a layer of dust on it. Another GREAT riding bike nobody knows about.
Yes, I absolutely love my LG tri shoes. Super comfortable and very easy to get into and out of. For road shoes, I’m sticking with Sidi
If looking at their top end shoes, be aware that they fit small, you’ll likely need to order up a full size. I use 45 in Shimano and Specialized, needed a 46 in LG…

I do agree with that. Shoes do fit small.

Maybe look up a dealer on their website???
I believe you can also order from their website.
I too wonder why their Gennix tri bike doesn’t get much love. I’m thinking one reason is price is kind of high for a bike that doesn’t have an integrated bar solution, no integrated storage, etc.
A few people on my tri club in Salt Lake City ride them. I think we have a discount from LG, although I don’t know for sure cuz I’m fairly new. I must say, they look pretty nice in person

I think this deserves its own thread. ItÂ’s very confusing. IÂ’ll post it later in a bit
Dan actually did a front page article about the bike a while ago, I think he liked the front fork design, how it was positioned compared to the wheel axle, etc.
Edit, think it was this one:

Don’t think you can order the bikes from the website, need a dealer for that.
Could always just call them up / email and ask “are there any dealers in my area who sell your bikes?”
I actually like it a lot precisely because it doesn’t have an integrated bar.

Ah, correct, instead of a ‘buy’ button, its a ‘dealer’ button.
I agree that the shoes fit a bit small. Love the Course helmet too.
Also have excellent customer service. Had an issue with a product and they were quick to respond. Good company.

I donÂ’t want the bike. But I am confused about a few things.
- LG makes it so hard to buy this bike if you even wanted to. There isnÂ’t a dealer within 500 miles of me in Tampa, FL. Why are they sponsoring an athleteÂ’s bike if they donÂ’t plan to sell it?
- How aero is this bike compared to other super bikes? I have not seen it mentioned at all in any coomparisons.
- If it is very comparable, then it should tell us something about the bike companies where a clothing outfitter makes bikes as good as the bike industry.
4). If it isnÂ’t as good as the other bikes, why is Lionel on one?? I know they pay him but they could just pay him to wear the clothing. He could get a bike sponsor with a better bike for sure. He lost to Lange by what, 2-3 min?
