Is IM Arizona entry still crazy difficult to get into?

Might be looking to try to get an entry for 2017. Just wondered if the online registration is still crazy fast or has it slowed down a little?

This year it didn’t sell out on-site or in seconds online as it has in the past. My guess is that the bad weather meant low attendance for on-site registration and there are a lot more late season Ironmans now in North America. Florida didn’t sell out right away either.

Yes. I think IMAZ sold out in about 5 hours. FL took weeks to sell out.

Last year IMAZ sold on site and this year anyone who wanted it badly enough could have gotten in. Interesting.

This was my 7th AZ, the weather was so bad the volunteers didn’t show up or left. I really think the weather was a one off this year. I think if you want to race you need to either volunteer or get in line early in the morning Monday.

Foundation spots are still open. I don’t think they have ever been available this late in any prior year.

I did a charity spot a couple years ago. They ( smile train) have been e mailing me asking me to do it again. Two years ago, that was the only way I could gain entry.
