Is Gatorade Endurance no more?

I haven’t been able to find Gatorade Endurance in the ready to drink form at the stores and one of my buddies said that it was being discontinued… does anyone know if this is true or not? If Gatorade Endurance no longer exists what are they serving on the course at the Ironman races?

Ive been drinking the powder stuff all summer…if its not on the course, ill be pissed.

Hope you aren’t doing Ironman Canada then. I recently learned that Gatorade Endurance formula isn’t allowed in Canada due to it’s high sodium content. They apparently will serve regular on the course.

The liquid form concentrate is still readily available but that doesn’t answer your question at all since it needs to be in bottles to work on the bike course…

I saw some in the circle K store today, but the website only has powder for sale.

I have a big jug of the concentrate at my house.

just add kosher salt so it tastes slightly salty…if on the course, use salt tabs. No big deal. Gatorade Endurance is just increased sodium.

Easy to do…it works too.

Good riddance if it is gone. Endurance always made me sick - cramps and nausea. So I can’t take it on the IM course anyways. Ironically, regular Gatorade is my drink of choice.

G2 for me!!

Gatorade Endurance is on the course at every Ironman and Ironman 70.3 race in the US. Sorry IM Canada - Endurance is not in Canada yet, so we use regular Gatorade.

All of the Ironman and Ironman 70.3 races have Orange Endurance on the bike and Lemon Lime on the run course.

You can go to www.onthecourse.com and put in your Zip code to find the nearest store that has Endurance. Or go to Gatorade.com and order it on-line.

Funny, just the opposite for me. Regular Gatorade makes me nauseous on workouts (but it’s OK post-workout). Yeah, I’ve tried to manipulate the concentration with the powder but every now and then I got it wrong with negative (albeit non-messy) results.

Why not just offer Gatorade and let people add their own sodium?

Gatorade Endurance is so hard to find, especially for us Canadians, that it makes it difficult us to follow one of the basic rules of training - to train with what we’ll be using race day.

I thought I remember looking at the Tiger Woods gatorade and it was very similar in sodium as endurance. I could be wrong though

I agree-ish. Though, if you are training for an IM that is using the Endurance formula then for training why not add the sodium to your regular formula so it has the consistency of Endurance?

I didn’t realize that so many people are still using Gatorade on the race course as part of their main nutrition. I have no intention of taking any Gatorade unless I feel like I need a change up in flavors down the road somewhere.

If your training for Ironman Canada, drink Gatorade - that is was will be on the course. Z

Tom, what flavor(s) of regular gatorade do they use at IM Canada?

I know the question wasn’t directed at me, but orange & lemon-lime.

The Tiger gatorade has 25% more electrolytes than regular, but not as much sodium as endurance.

Tiger has 135 mg of sodium per 8 oz and Endurance has 200 mg of sodium per 8 oz.

But, I do like the Tiger flavors.

Unfortunately, that site is very out-dated. Last year, I went to 4 stores in the Milwaukee area that the site said had the ready-to-drink bottles and none of them did. All four told me they stopped carrying it after the first year.

That said, I get the powder and make it myself. WAY cheaper that way. And, I really like the stuff for long or hot-weather training.
