Is Dura Ace 7900 crankset compatible with BB30?

I am getting a Jamis Xenith SL which comes with a BB30 instead of a traditional BB. Typically they stock the bike with FSA K-Froce light crank but i want to get the DA7900 crank to match the rest of the DA7900 components. Is the new DA crank compatible with the internal BB design?

looks like they only do English and Italian BBs. Doesn’t your frame mfg provide an adapter?

No, it’s not. It’s compatible with the Hollowtech 2 style outboard bottom brackets.

so looks like i cant go da7900 even with an “adapter”? which would probably be stupid anyway

To install the Dura Ace crankset you would need to have the shop press in a standard threaded BB adapter. You would then be able to thread in the Dura Ace BB cups. Once the adapter is pressed in to a carbon frame its not considered removable. (I have done it on my own bikes without issues, but you can void the warranty)
Its a tough call, the shifting on the new Dura Ace 7900 front is phenomenal, but you dont shift a lot up front in triathlons. I personally like the narrower stance of the BB30 cranks as I prefer to get my feet as close together as I can, but I have found some bigger riders prefer the wider stance of the Shimanos.

Isn’t the stance (Q factor) of the Durace crank set no matter which type of bb you have. The spindle is permanantly attached to one arm.
