I was told not to drink Soy milk because of the estrogen, that it’s better to drink almond milk. I don’t like regular milk, except when I drink coffee.
you’re not going to grow lady parts, don’t worry.
almond milk, especially Silk, is might tasty however.
I’ve found that most Almond milk’s taste better, and have significantly less sugar than Soy.

Wow, I guess I should have been drinking it for years.
The only estrogen you are gonna get is in the form of a pill and it has to be prescribed from a doctor.
Drink up.

Soy just increases the production of estrogen; it is not actually estrogen in itself.

Silk is awesome stuff, but I can’t drink their almond milk all the time… it’s just too sweet for my tastes.
I like the Vanilla Almond. It’s really thick. Makes for a super deserty bowl of cereal.
I’m not a fan of most other almond milks, unless I’m hiding them in shakes.
Thick indeed! Mixing up some instant breakfast with a glass of Silk is close to milkshake-consistency.
That is all up to you. Your body will react to it like estrogen… For large effects you would have to take a lot of it, but you could notice that you are more likely to store fat etc. This is a Phyto-Estrogen, not actual Estrogen, but also you will see similar effects from the PBA in some plastics as well. Most of this research is still being conducted, but if you are trying to have kids, you might want to stick to Whey for protein and not soy, as well as almond milk over soy mil.
Also not that Soy Milk is generally made from non-fermented Soy, and non-fermented Soy has a much higher phyto-estrogen level. So if you do look at studies and links, you also have to understand are they looking at fermented soy, non-fermented soy and understand the source of the products you use and how the body treats it.

And since he is not making estrogen, he has nothing to worry about.

Link?
Store some fat. maybe, (He wold have to drink copious amounts) beyond that, nada!
I’ve been drinking soy milk for years, still no breasts. dammit!!! what am I doing wrong!!!
All soy companies make unsweetened versions (silk included) so just buy that, its good stuff sans sugar. I find racing with soy milk/yogurt makes me less tired than milk/regular yogurt.

Soy isoflavones in dietary quantities have been shown to have no effect on male sperm quality or quantity, fertility, and estrogen or other sex hormone levels.
If you want to have some soymilk go ahead, it’s fine. In my opinion you should buy products sourced from North American-grown beans, however.

You trying to say that there is no link by increase estrogen levels and increased body fat?
Also of particular concern is the effect of GMO foods. What is one of the most highly available GMO foods??? Any guess? Any guess. Yes. SOY!

I am pretty sure both men and women produce both testosterone and estrogen.

What I’m saying is there is no link between soy milk and an increase in estrogen. Estrogen absolutely has an increase in fat. In fact, I’m counting on it for hips and boobs!

OK, you’re right, he is producing estrogen. At about 1/200th of a natal female. So if he drinks 200x the normal amount of soy, he may, for 1 day, have an increase in estrogen.

Oh, btw, the Huffingtonpost link does not mention estrogen at all. Only phyto-estrogen, and it was not the causative agent.
Soy does not increase estrogen in the body, but the phytoestrogens have the SAME EFFECT on the body. It is one of the reason there are studies now about soy and menopause, etc.
*Soy contains phytoestrogens known as isoflavones, which are plant-based compounds that have a similar function in the body as estrogen, says the University of Maryland Medical Center. Soy isoflavones appear to influence estrogen receptors and thus the effects of estrogen in your body. In this way, soy isoflavones can either decrease or increase the effects of the hormone in your body, but not the amount of estrogen itself. *
Long and short, there have not been enough studies, as well, given the amount of GMO Soy that is out there, one of the most GMO food that is around, I go out of my way to avoid it. Your mileage may vary.
And soy contains what??? Phyto-estrogens.
As well does soy milk come from non-fermented or fermented soy, and what is the difference in levels of phyto-estrogens between the two.
Tofu, all soy milks, soy infant formulae, soy protein powders and soy meat alternatives, such as soy sausages/veggie burgers, made from hydrolysed soy powder are generally from non-fermented soy.
You can also comment on soy, phytic acid, the difficulties it raises with the absorbtion of iodine, and hint there is a reason why they tell people with thyroid issues to stay away from Soy.
So when you see a study that says “soy is safe” are they studying fermented or unfermented soy? Fermented Soy has a much smaller amount of phyto-estrogens, but unfermented soy is what is used in so many of the Soy Milks, etc.
FYI - From the Silk website
*Do Silk products contain genetically engineered (GMO) soybeans?**No. At Silk, we use only soybeans produced without the use of genetic engineering or gene manipulation. We aggressively monitor our growers to ensure that our soybeans are of the very best quality. We have comprehensive testing protocols in place to detect GMOs, pesticide residue and other potential contaminants—all of which go above and beyond regulatory requirements. From the time they are planted to when they are manufactured, our beans are tested four times to ensure that they are non-GMO. *
