the only argument for an apple computer is the notion that they dont get viruses like a pc. i have this thing called “mcafee” and i havent got a virus yet, and i can usue the controls way easier/faster than a mac user could.
computer nerds and gamers in their free time also make fun of mac users. just type in “why apple sucks” in google vs “why pc sucks” and you should get a pretty good picture how it is.
Apple is a marketing and lifestyle company that spends hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising and industrial design to create aspirational products/lifestyle. It’s a marketing company that could be successful selling just about anything, they just happen to move expensive boxes. From the retail stores to the website to the TV spots to the products, everything is perfectly orchestrated to deliver a very clear message, “our shit is hot”.
Desoto is a product and customer service company that clearly spends more money on product development than marketing. Have you seen their website? Probably the worst user experience of any brand of that caliber. From the product shots to the UI, it’s all bad. This is a classic case of a niche player (not an insult) finding success with a very dedicated set of core customers that are loyal to the company for providing superior products and service. The problem with this model (if growth is the objective) is that it doesn’t scale as easily. As the sport grows and new participants arrive on the scene, they will look to familiar brands, or those that position themselves through quality marketing.
