It seems funny that when they have a relatively hilly course in wales they don’t then look for a different type of course for the other uk full.

Looks like the run could be pretty hilly.
14.3km 150m Gain. So 3 laps would be 450m total gain.
Which is the same if not slightly more than Wales.

The previous 70.3 in Edinburgh unfortunately wasn’t popular, as the course was just wrong (and I raced in both editions).
Swim start in a horrible car park, water temperature 12 degrees, split transitions, bike all in a massive headwind and incredibly convoluted and hilly run.
Is that accurate @BenwGoodfellow? Are Leon, Skipper and Harry racing?

Josh was 2nd in Challenge Almere Europe Long Distance Championships last year
Not Harry’s debut. Has started a few fulls (Wales, Florida, South Africa) but not raced as well as in middle distance sure he would agree.

Yeah, he said in his post race interview that he’s doing Placid, so probably not going to cancel travel plans unless he was absolutely battered yesterday & today (think someone said he’s due to fly tomorrow).
Chevalier went extremely well on Sunday: his best 70.3 ever, maybe (highest PTO Ranking point score outside IMWC). He won Les Sables '23 but against rather weaker competition.
Palmer implied post Swansea victory he would not take a Nice slot, but then by inference, equivocated (he refused his Marbella slot this time last year and now regrets it).
Top 3 could have been the same as Ironman UK 2021.
Yes, in Bolton Skipper overhauled Laidlow who had ridden too hard (and was in a bad way on the run with a couple of miles to go) and Chevalier very nearly caught Laidlow too.
How their fortunes have diverged since then!

Currie is on the start-list for LP, if he gets a Nice slot, I doubt he will start in Leeds. That’s like 3 IM in 3 months
