Late to look for hotels…anyone have a room they will not be using to check-in on Friday 5/13/16 and check-out on Sunday 5/15/16?
Trying to get as close to race site as possible for the family but the 3 that are within walking distance are booked.

Check Embassy Suites, The Woodlands. They are either just about to open or just opened.
Check the Woodlands Resort. The resort is close by and should have shuttle running with some frequency.
Sold out
.
Was hoping for something closer with transportation to/from race site for the fam. THANKS
Residence Inn Lake Front Circle had at least one room available this morning. 1.0 mile walk from the finish line.
I booked the Days Inn about a week ago. Not a high end place or immediately nearby, but looked pretty close. It was reasonably priced.

Wyndham opens end of Feb and is right at the fountains/finish. Maybe another option.
The Embassy Suites (assuming its open) will be the closest hotel to swim start.
Can’t find any info on this one online…where did you see this?
I hope it’s open, since I already booked my room. lol
Not a hotel but you could try Air BnB

He might mean the Westin in the Woodlands, which is currently scheduled to open March 3. It’ll cost you, though.

Front door brag: I was one of the structural engineers for the hotel and the new pedestrian bridge that crosses the waterway right next to it.
Does this mean there will not be all of the construction on the run course this year? That will be nice.

Perfect location though
I would imagine the run course will go back to the pre-2015 route. That pedestrian bridge will have some prime views of the run course. It’s just east of the finish line bridge and you can watch runners heading east and west along both sides of the waterway. I haven’t heard anything official though, there may be other projects causing disruptions.

Yes! sorry, got my hotel names mixed. I run by it a few times a week. and yes (from another poster) the section of the waterway in front of it is about to open, so the 2014 run route will be back. no detour.
Wanted to get some local input on best place to stay for IM Texas. Have rooms reserved at Westin and Courtyard. Which do you think is a better athlete location (as I’ll be dropping in solo for this race) ? Thanks.
The new Westin is on the run course probably a block and a half from transition.
The Courtyard is further north and is not within a walkable distance.
