In reviewing the results I am surprised by the number of 1:00-1:10 swimmer at 26% currently. Based on the poll that would be 1:06 or 1:16 with a wetsuit. My last race with wetsuit was a 1:09 or 1:15 adjusted for the poll (add 6 min). This placed me in the top 20% overall. I clicked the 1:10-1:20 box.
I would say if you go under 1:10 with a wetsuit you are normally in the top 20%. In short, the 26% seems high based on my race experience and placing.
when i voted the first choice i saw was 1-1:20 and i checked that and thought it was a bit weird. came back and found it must have been a typo as the next choice was 110-120. so maybe lots voted when the option was 1-120? has it been fixed yet? can’t tell while replying.
Slowtwitch polls have a massive selection bias. Meaning that the type of person who is on slowtwitch everyday is more likely to be faster than the average person doing an ironman swim.

Don’t worry, there are still people like me who skew the averages the other way as well. Swim time - 1:40ish if I’m lucky. And it doesn’t stop there! Income - way below average, body fat % - way above average, finishing time - well, you get the idea. I figure someone has to complete the bell curve…
