Ironman Payment Plan Gone / New Pregnancy Policy

Anybody have any insight here? I have just tried to register for Lake Placid 2025, knowing I used the payment plan last year to take the sting out of registering early, but this year I can’t find any reference to it. Am I being a dope and it’s hidden somewhere, or did they drop it altogether?

Additionally - the new pregnancy policy they’ve been advertising… is it actually new at all? 2 years ago I was able to do a late deferal when my son was born 5 weeks before IMLP (as the non birthing partner). Couldn’t see anything different than what benefits I was given over 2 years ago in this new policy

Wondering if they’re overly advertising the latter as something new to try and hide other things that have been taken away, such as the payment plan?

Changes to the pregnancy policy are as follows:
Women who become pregnant are allowed to defer to the same event either the following year, or the year after that (the second year is new). One year deferral offered to partners of women expecting, as well as parents who adopt / surrogate / etc.
New payment plan is offered for US residents only via Klarna, which allows you to split the entry into four equal payments. I can’t tell if they are offering payment plans to our friends north of the border.

Thank you. Was only coming from a male POV so didn’t notice the changes for women. Have to say when I reached out to them two years ago I was pleasantly surprised this policy existed, especially for those not actually giving birth

And the Klarna options aren’t that great tbh (at least imo). The 4 payment options, whilst interest free, are all due in the next 6 weeks. The previous Ironman Payment plan was something like 3 payments over a 3 or 4 month period. No real benefit to the new approach

(I’d say if you need to use Klarna, then entering an Ironman might not be the right move at this time, given it’s an expensive sport)

The prior entry split was something that Active offered. As IM has now switched to their own white-label registration system (a good thing, IMO), it also has eliminated certain features that Active had baked into the platform.

Klarna works for certain things, depending on how you split it up. (That’s not that far off from, say, the PayPal in 4 system that’s out there).

Having not run through the reg platform, I mean, wonder if people are doing PayPal payment plans, et al for checkout instead.
