I just got a call from Alex Bok, who put my wife on the phone from the other side of the planet—10 minutes before race start. That was thoughtful, and I got to wish her well as she was off for Ironman Malaysia right now.
Should be good races on both sides; women field has TeamTBB’s Erika Csomor, my wife Donna, and Maki Nishiuchi, who is evidently a gun swimmer. Then there’s defending champ Belinda Granger, Edith Niederfriniger, Nicole Leder and Heleen Bij de Vaate. Mens race has Bryan Rhodes, Luke McKenzie, and ITU pro Reinaldo Collucci of Brazil and TeamTBB. I’m keen to see how Rei goes in his first Ironman. Petr Vabrousek, Hiroyuki Nichiuchi, and TBB’s fish, Mathieu O’Halloran, are on as well.
I guess it’s pretty hot there, too. That should be pleasant for everyone.

But this is not Colucci’s first IM by any means I’ve raced him at least in 3 IM’s and I’m sure he did Malaysia few years ago and done another bunch in Europe. He has probably 7-8 IM’s under his belt, PB of 8h29 in Brazil 2007.
Well, I’m sure she’d like to win. Barring that, I think Brett has a vision for her, but I don’t know what that is… the team holds fast to the first rule of fight club. Regardless, she’s going well thus far.
Yeah, the girls are kicking ass… I’m torn; go to bed to get sleep for my morning ride, or stay up and see how this sorts out. Kinda hard to go to a sound sleep when your wife is running in second on the other side of the planet. Glad you’ve been over there keeping her and the other girls in check.
hummm, if we have a public proof that you are going to bed when your girl is in second place doing so well, that is reason for serious trouble for you!!! Stay up!
