Ironman M dot logo color significance?

Perhaps this is a dumb question by a relative newbie but is there any significance to the color of the Ironman M dot logo? I’ve seen the red logo the most but I noticed a lot of green logos when watching the Kona Championship. Now viewing the Ironman website I’m seeing different races with different colors. Is this a recent change? Just curious! Thanks in advance.

Different races have different color schemes, thus the different M dot colors.

For example:
IM Louisville is predominantly red
IM Florida is predominantly blue & orange
IM CDA was predominantly green
IM Maryland uses blue & red

I noticed that too

I always saw IM KOna M-dot as being red

Ya take that FSU…

Just don’t. You’ll have people questionning their tattoos and getting more done in various colours to cover all bases.

If I were to get a tattoo…it would just be of the distance 140.6 - Maybe get that in binary (00110001 00110100 00110000 00101110 00110110) be a solid conversation starter or a “if you don’t know, you can’t afford me” type answer

IM Wisconsin uses a wedge of cheese above the M
