What is the best/nicest/most luxury hotel or condo in Panama City beach. My wife and her family want to stay at the best—small price for me to pay because she has allowed me to train as much as I want.
Thanks.

Nicest Hotel… Boy, you don’t want to mis-type that one… Swap the “N” and the “i”… That’s what I initially read…
I’m a sicko…
I think the Gulfcrest Condo is excellent - less than 2 years old, on the run course, about 1/2 mile from the finish line. 2 pools + 2 hot tubs. Excellent spot. I am staying there again this year.
Here is the website:

Don’t know if it is the nicest, but I have stayed there twice and I am very pleased with it.
Hope this helps.
Nicest condo is En Soliel, I’m not sure who handles the rentals for them. About a mile from the Boardwalk Beach Resort. The nicest hotel is the Bay Point Marriott. They are renovating a lot of it, but the rooms are nice.
They just built a massive condo next to Boardwalk and I’m not sure if they are even available to rent yet if they are that would be great. It is part of Boardwalk Beach Resort so call them about it.
It may not be the most luxury hotel or condo in Panama City beach, but very nice 4 bedroom 3 bath condo right at 1/2 mile marker on the run course.
Plenty of parking, easy to get in and out of on event day except during the run **AND **right across the street from the only bar (Quarter Deck) with a deck on the run course.
It fills up fast so you better hurry.
It’s a trek from the start finish line, but my vote for nicest part of Bay County goes to Carillon Beach http://www.carillon-beach.com/ Rent a cottage for the week there, and then maybe spend the night before the race at something chap and closer to the race site if need be.
Real nice string of small, very posh beach town developments starting at Carillon and going to the west of there. Rosemary Beach, Seaside, and Watercolor Beach are the big ones. Grayton Beach is more old school, but is my favorite place along that stretch of the Gulf. (and if you’re a stalker type, Lance and Sheryl will show up at the Red Bar in Grayton Beach when they’re in town)
Check out Sterling Beach. it is fairly new and very nice indeed.
That was the first time that we actually felt on vacation, unlike in some other places.

Definitely let them lap in the luxury of the host hotel, the incomparable Boardwalk Beach Resort. On my stay there for Gulf Coast Triathlon, there were no fewer than 7 partially used bars of soap ready for use, perched on the window ledge in the shower. And they’ll love the retro decor. As an added bonus, they get to park at Wal Mart and use the limo shuttle. Not that they’d want to leave the resort however.
I second the Marriott at Bay Point. My family and I stayed there during the week of Mother’s Day. It’s probably a little over 5 miles to the Start/Finish/transition area, but definitely worth it. Most of the hotels in the area are under renovation/construction after the hurricane season last year, which hit them hard!! Florida IM is probably on the top of my list once I get my knee taken care off. Good luck!
