All general entries for the March 25 event were sold out in five minutes and five seconds, making it the fastest-selling Ironman race in the history of the sport.
marketing mumbo jumbo. We all know from history that there have been races (i.e., IMLP and others) that sold out on site and never made it to the 0.001 min online. I don’t think anyone on here can dispute that. I might buy off on the 5 min 5 seconds as the fastest for races that made it online … ** might ***
I think IMLP, IM Canada, and IMFL of yesteryears might have something to say about the 5 min 5 seconds claim.
but it took longer than 5 minutes for everyone to register on site. For melbourne there was NO onsite registration. So technically what they said is correct.
I was more nervous about this registration than my first IM lol Thanks for the input!!!
I was at my laptop @12:50 and ready to go and I got in along w/4 other guys. Two peeps I know didn’t get in which sucks but at least most of us made it. Funny thing I took my sweet as time answering those stupid questions before entering CC info, lucky I made it!! Took this comment off Ironman facebook page “My husband and I went up there for the weekend to stand in line for 3 hours to get a slot. There was probably close to 1000 volunteers or more in line and they got priority over the general public standing in line. Over 800 of the participants signed up before the race and a bunch signed up after”
