Has anyone tried these? If you have, how have you liked them? Are they comfortable in aero and on the run? How is the fit? Should one size up on these? Any info would be appreciated. I think the Santini Event Tri kits are based on the Santini Viper Tri kit. I am specifically asking about the single piece tri suit that they sell at the events and at Ironmanstore.com.
Bump. I have access to one of these for pretty cheap but will skip if they are terrible and/or ill fitting.
My friend has one. He likes it. Personally, I think they look like nice kits, but I also think they’re expensive. Given they’re the official kit of IM you can assure they’re not junk. IM usually partners with solid brands.
Yes, I have one and like it. The fit is slightly on the tight side. I’m 5’10" 165lbs and have a M. I wore it up during the swim and it was just a tad tight in the shoulders. Perfect on the bike, and ok on the run. M in zoot is just a bit roomier. Note, that it is hard to pee in due to the zipper not coming down quite far enough. On the flip side I prefer the true 1 piece as compared to many of the newer suits that are more like 2 piece sewn together.
I also was thinking about purchasing one of these but cannot make the decision. I want a one piece tri suit for IM Texas but it just seems like there isn’t much to choose from. I have been looking at de soto forza suit too but not crazy about it. I wish santini offered some trisuits that didn’t have the Ironman brand all over them as I don’t really want to be “that guy” lol
Any other recomendations?

This one is just simply fantastic. Quality and fit are second to none. You get what you pay for. Also comes in sleeveless.

$525 for a single garment?!?!?
Boy I sure do miss Bonktown.
Closer to $575 with taxes and better than anything Bonktown ever had. And unlike Love The Pain you’ll actually get it.
Yikes…I am sure the quality is awesome and that is what I’m looking for…but I don’t think I could justfy spending almost $600 on one. Looking for more in the $300 range.
I do appreciate the response though
Has anyone tried the position one trisuit?
In addition to the Santini I have a Zoot, Pactimo, and Castelli right now (I think that is it). There are minor pluses and minuses with all of them, but I really don’t dislike any of them.
I won one in the recent Ironman giveaway, but it has not arrived yet. Looking forward to trying it out. Meanwhile, I can assure you the Zoot onesie suit is excellent quality. Good pad, not too big for swim and run, just right for the bike. The fabric feels very light when you’re on the bike. The suit also has clever pockets behind the neck and on the torso for stashing ice to cool you during the run.

Would you have gone for a Size L on the Santini Kit? Do you think it would have fit better?
Yes it’s expensive but that ice pocket looks like exactly what I’m after… is Assos the only company doing this, or am I missing a trend?

I’ve bought multiple Santini Tri suits and they are all great quality. None of them is Ironman branded.
I do have the Viper long distance and it’s great. It’s also very fast for swimming. I love it.
I have an M (I’m 175cm tall), it’s slightly too tight but that’s what makes it very fast for swimming probably. It’s not uncomfortable but the laser cut eats into my skin a little bit on Ironman races. I get a red mark at the edge on my thighs. It’s not as much of a problem on shorter races. As others have said, it’s not easy to take off for toilet stops.
I compared the one I have to the IM branded Santini one piece trikit at IM Hawaii and it seemed the exact same product to me.
About performance, supposedly the Santini Viper is the same product that Gustav Iden has raced in for a long time - including his WC win.
One word…Zoot. Great fit, durable, and don’t cost you your first born child.
I didn’t realize the Santini Viper skinsuits were made for triathlon. I thought they were more for just cycling but I hope I am wrong as there is actually a variety to choose from. Are they ok on the swim? I really think I am going to change into running clothes for the run so not worried about that but wondering if the swim will turn the pad into a diaper??

I’m talking about the Santini Viper trisuit not the skinsuit.
The trisuit is made for triathlon and it’s really great for the swim. I actually think it’s as fast as a swimskin and it dries quickly. The pad is quite thin as you’d find in most trisuits.
I have no experience with the cycling skinsuit
Ahh I see that now thanks.
