I just registered for next year’s Ironman Chattanooga. Where should I stay?
I just stayed at the Holiday Inn and Suites on Chestnut. It was only a few blocks from transition and was around $200 a night. I would stay there again in the future.
Residence inn downtown for your own kitchen. If that’s too expensive, I stayed at the other residence inn near hamilton on center st. it’s a 20 minute drive to transition but parking is easy and plentiful (but an additional cost)
I stayed at holiday inn on chestnut. It’s fine. Only issue is valet parking ($15 per day) only or pay for parking next store at lot. I’m not sure if any other hotels downtown provide free parking with stay. You can also try airbnb or hotels slightly further out as parking raceday is easy. garage right next to transition.

I rented a house. It was one the other side of the river, but it was brand new. 12-15 min commute to downtown. It had 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. 6 of us stayed Thur-Monday morning for $500 total. I didn’t love parking, but we were all over Choo and I wouldn’t do it any other way if I had the choice. There’s is lots of parking downtown.

The two closest hotels are the Residence Inn by Marriott and the Courtyard by Marriott. Both are about 1 block from T1.
Next closest would be the Hilton Garden Inn (right beside the Residence Inn) and then the Hampton Inn and Doubletree Hilton. These are 2-3 blocks away but a very easy walk.
The Downtown Marriott and Springhill Suites and The Chattanoogan are all about a mile from T1. The Reed House is about a kilometer from T1.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
another option if you’re willing to drop down the quality of hotel you wish to stay in is the Days Inn which is on Carter street (which does extends from Chestnut St). It’s a mile away. Even if you don’t stay there, I’d recommend the City Cafe Diner which is attached to it. 24 hours. Food is good. Huge menu.
