My best friend just found out he has melanoma skin cancer and had a chunk of his back the size of a baseball removed today, thus unable to race next weekend at IMCDA. He inquired about getting some of his entry fee back or at least put towards next year’s entry fee in hopes he’s still around. IMNA not only said no, but hell no. Thoughts?
You have to figure at the least a race director would have told him; sorry about this but when you get well he will have a spot for you. No cash back but at least it would show he cared. If it were me, I would take a picture of the hole in my back and mail it to the race director with a note thanking him for his concern. But that’s just me. I would think that all the training that was put into the race would help fight the melanoma. Hope your friend recovers quickly and is able to race next year.
