Looks like Lionel and Kienle are lucking out in the sense that the water looks calm and pros are wearing wetsuits. Sunny day. I wonder how windy the bike will get! Pro men started at 4:15 EDT and pro women at 4:20 EDT
Aussie boy Josh Amberger leading the swim!
You can’t win the race in the swim, but you can lose it…
Sorry, I couldn’t resist…
Hopefully Sebastian and Lionel were not one of those 10 or so men who were no where near the start line when they were let go. That had to be a huge Oh S#it for those who missed the start.

I missed the start. What the heck happened?
There were 10 or so men still swimming to the start line when they sounded the horn. It looked like quite the swim from the beach to the start (not exactly short).

OK I missed that…it was “in water start?”
What do you guys think about Holly Lawrence. She’s had a few fast runs too?

On the other hand, the gals were all nicely ready on the line well before their start.
Looks like 21:50 or so for Amberger…the rest around 40 seconds later
.
Crowie on the bike in 2nd place…woohoo!!!
“the lifeless, the ageless, Craig Alexander”
1 for 2 isn’t bad…
Interesting that he put socks on.
And he mounted too early. Probably a penalty

The funny thing is it is impossible to not figure out the mount line for everyone but the first guy out of the water…after 1st there is always someone who is mounting at the line.
His responsibility to know, but that big red line at the end of transition is pretty crappy (especially for a former ITU guy like Heyburgs).

I think she has recently made a highly interesting coaching change…I wouldn’t be surprised to see her kill it in light of that fact.
Where is Kienle?..McMahon and Don in lead pack
I guess no GPS tracking of the pros?
Sanders only 3 min back and he’d only <1 min back of Kienle at T2.
Edit: Sorry, Sanders almost 4 min back. Kienle just over 2 min back

Yes in the water start.
Anyone see sanders periscope? Huge huge group heading up the hill out of T2. All “drafting”.
What periscope was that?
