Paula has 3.30 to manage on Danielle Lewis, about 11-12 seconds per km.
Lionel has gained 15 seconds back on Sam, I think that’s it.

McDowell stalking the podium with Szuch seeming to be struggling a bit on the hills

Agree. Long pushed; gained a bit; then either couldn’t maintain pace or Sanders just upped it a few seconds a km.

It’s just the parcours. Long gained it back on the downhill section, now going uphill again

Wonder if Szuch went too hard and now has blown. He lost 30 seconds to Mcdowell in 2 splits, Birthwhistle going strong as well.

Looks like Lionel will take it.

Never in doubt.

Sure
Hamilton likely to go top of the IM Pro Series with this result with Wurf going into second.

Lewis not making up time to Paula after that early surge. Still down 3:30 at 6k

Danielle Lewis lost a few seconds in the past 4k. In the bag for Paula as well.

Hering could run through to the podium.

Cool shot of Lionel passing Paula having the two Canadian leaders on screen together

Could this be one of his best performances across Swim-Bike-Run?

Edit: I want to emphasize that I am talking about HIS performances, not in general.

Hering will likely move into 3rd at next time check. She is closing fast

As I’ve said before, but people try to degrade the accomplishments. Lionel Sanders is one of the greatest 70.3 Distance Athletes of all time.

Absolutely and now another win to extend his record for most 70.3 wins

Go Lionel! Congrats!

They’re completely missing the sprint finish for third…

Long, McDowell, Hanson heading for the 4 available start slots for Marbella. Neumann and Ditlev a few seconds apart for the last of the slots; the latter running much faster.
Early season but Hamilton likely to go top of the IM Pro Series with this result with Wurf going into second.
