IRONMAN 70.3 Jonkoping Climbs

Would anyone that raced at IRONMAN 70.3 Jonkoping share how steep and how long the first climb is on the bike. There’s 450 meters of climbing total with maybe 25% (or so) of it in the first climb. Trying to determine what gearing would be acceptable. Thanks!

According to the strava segment: 2,09 km with 94m of climbing (ave 4,5%)

Done this climb a couple of times and last time with a 54 front and 11-32 rear. Didn’t think to much about it. The rest of the bike have no real major only rolling terrain. A beautiful but quite slow course (for me)

That’s what I needed to know. I’m riding a smaller cassette but probably won’t have to think much about it. Thank you!

Serious sprint finish in the WPro between Pohle and (winner) Meissner in Sweden.
Swam, biked and ran together for 70.3 miles!
The first qualifiers for Nice.

apparently winner not anymore…

Great finish!!!

Looks like Meissner was first announced the winner, but was later relegated to 2nd place due to blocking the way for Pohle.

it didn’t look like blocking to me tbh…controversial at best

Here’s the final moment (assume post any ‘blocking’):

Claiming the inside of the last corner when there’s minimal distance to the finish is a massive advantage ceteris paribus.
Anyone got coverage of the last 15 seconds?

Via TTH Insta account.

From that few seconds shot from the front, difficult to say: both athletes’ arms out a bit (balance up ramp?).
However these shots make the fairness of both athletes final sprint evident: totally fair. Overtaking boat keeps clear: no need to crowd. Meissner holds a straight line and room enough for Pohle to go past at arms’ length. And separately Meissner is judged to cross the line first and become European Champion (and $5000 difference #1 to #2).
2.05 (a) An athlete will be judged as finished the moment any part of their torso crosses a vertical line [means plane] extending from the leading edge of the finish line gantry;

And am amazed Pohle was weak enough to let her team to even file a protest.
Poor judgement and decision by the Swedish Head Referee, imho.
Someone leans in on me round the final bend, they’re going to get an accidental elbow in that level of their torso: they don’t need to be that close. The Ovett school of hard knocks.
IM Rule 1.02 (c) Penalize athletes who gain, or seek to gain, an unfair advantage.
Discussed on PTN @ 35 mins in, after Roth.

I would agree poor judgement to file a protest
Team erdinger should make sure that at least with their bonus system both athletes walk away with same money .
But overall this is not positive news for the team.
